Talk-Talk What I Know So Far....

I made mistake of going with TalkTalk for broadband just as they started out, as it was quite a bit cheaper than I was paying and for a faster service, I had had no problems with their CPS phone service, so thought all should be fine, I had 2.5 months of useless internet.
Their phone service isn't that great value too anymore either, especially as now they force their line rental on to you too. It's PAC not PAC Code, it's MAC not MAC Code, it's PIN not PIN Number, it's ATM not ATM Machine, it's LCD not LCD Display, it's DVD not DVD disc... It's no one not noone, It's a lot not alot, It's got not gotten... Panini is the plural of panino - there is no S!!(OK my English isn't great, the sciences, maths & IT are my strong points!)0 -
i had two salesman knock on my door last week to try to sell me talk talk package so thought people should be aware that they're doing this now. i soon sent them packing though after reading about how bad they are on here0

I had a door to door salesman sell me the International 3 package with free broadband , my line was connected in early June and when I called to find out when the broadband would be set up they said probably July/August. I waited and tried the tracker online with no joy. I then sent an email which generated a reply to say I would have a response in 5 days in mid June. I chased early July and was then told that braodband was not in my area (the salesman didn't advise of this !) and that there would be a further cost of £10 a month. I spoke to a supervisor who said to call back and dial option 4 an hour later and very angry I hung up. I have contacted the onbudsman and he said I must follow the complaints procedure so a recorded delivery letter went off on Friday.
And by the way the phone line is now playing up and I cannot talk to anyone to get it sorted out. 18 months is going to be a very long time.0 -
I have now complained to the Chairman of Carphone Warehouse, I was given his personal email address and typed up my complaint and sent it last night around 9pm. He replied at 8.20am this morning, apologising and saying he would look into the matter and revert soonest. I was surprised at the quick response but maybe it was due to the fact that I mentioned I was going to share my experiences with the local rag and Watchdog. Lets hope it is sorted shortly

I'm enquiring about Talk Talk's new internet broadband package on behalf of my parents who live in Dorset and are only entitled to the broadband if they join Talk Talk's international plan. Their main concern is if they are paying Talk Talk for the line and not B.T then who is responsible for the line and what happens if anything goes wrong? I've tried to contact Talk Talk about this but have received no replies. Can anyone help who maybe is already on the Talk Talk package?
Thanks

I've been trying for several days at lots of different times to get through to TalkTalk without success. I've also emailed without reply.
It doesn't bode well for customer service if anything does go wrong.0 -
I was about to sign up for Talk Talk also but after looking around I found that there are a lot of unhappy people out there.Totally dissatisfied with the product, intentional slowing of download speed by talk Talk for constant users and ''nightmares'' on instillation. And so called customer service.
From my own point of view the broadband and phone package was ideal as work would pick up the tab and therefore I wouldn't have to pay BT for a line rental as well as having some land line costs covered by work also.
i have been looking at other providers such as pipex but hear of problems with them also, more for existing customers than new ones but the problems these people have been reporting put me off as I will become an existing customer very quickly!!!
If any one knows of any reliable packages such as talk talk i would be gratefull to hear from them.

You contact TalkTalk if you have problems with your line. If necessary they will contact Bt to send an engineer. More info at this at this link

My brother has been with TalkTalk broadband for 2mths no probs. All the providers seem to get a slagging off. I'm going with TalkTalk myself, no connection/modem fee as I already have modem supplied by E7, and if service does go down hill after a 6 months or so I know it will only cost £70 to get out of contract.
ps: I don't work for them !0 -
Hello - going to the top obviously works because I have had 2 phone calls today apologising, I have been guaranteed delivery of my modem by Tuesday AND they have offered me some money as a goodwill gesture. I won't say how much but let's say it has helped ease my bitterness towards them.
