Customer Care is on 0870 087 0168 only free to call from a TT landline.Expect a long wait for them to answer!!!

This number now directs you to 0870 444 1820 for the BB offer.

I have used TT for my calls on a BT landline for about 6 months now. Over 2 weeks ago I decided to go with the new broadband package and ditch my troublesome Tiscali BB. I was told I would go live on Talk Talk BB at the end of July. I was promised the joining/welcome pack in 7 days and a go live telephone line within 3 weeks. They also said I would get an order number by e-mail within 24 hours. After a week and a half I had heard nothing from them. I decided to ring the helpline and got shunted around their departments in a 35 minute call. It seemed nothing could be done without the order number. They said I would be e-mailed it before the end of the day. Still NOTHING - no communication and no welcome pack. I started reading this thread and got further disillusioned so decided to cancel. This proved to be the hardest task of all and after 2 x 40 minute calls - (the first on a ring back promise and the second guy just cut me off) I decided the only thing to do was to cancel my direct debit. This I did yesterday, this morning I rang again and got the TT run around for 55 minutes, before a young lady informed me that my account had cancelled yesterday (spooky old thing). I can only presume this was due to my cancellation of the DD and not TT efficiency.
Overall I have been happy with the service they provided to date. If CPW/Talk Talk are not careful they will damage their relatively good reputation. This was my first real dealings with their customer services and quite honestly if this is the level of care they provide at this stage I for one do not wish to sign up for 18 months of broken promises and "Your call is important to us" Bye Bye TT

Has anyone received a welcome pack? (I signed up a couple of weeks ago with them and had the confirmation email but haven't had anything else as yet)
  • I signed up early on the first day (Apr 11) and have received nothing from TT at all. In fact, the only thing I have received is a letter from BT saying they had a request to cancel my line and that was due for April 26.

My order status says broadband activates April 2006 so I am completely mystified and cheesed off by TT now as, presumably, i am paying for a service I am not receiving.

Has anyone at all received their pack?

    Got the welcome pack today!

Slightly confused about one thing though. The pack says I am 'registered as an online biller' and will therefore save the £1 charge for paper billing.

I can't remember though when I ordered actually seeing/selecting this option. Also does this mean the monthly charge is actually £21.99 if you want a paper bill?

I think you were taken in by what I call 'economical marketing-speak'
Time has moved on (much quicker than it used to - or so it seems at my age) and my previous advice on residential telephony has been or is now gradually being overtaken by changes in the retail market. Hence, I have now deleted links to my previous 'pearls of wisdom'. I sincerely hope they helped save some of you money.

This recent thread in the ISP review raises concerns about the service and their lack of customer service.

I can't get the free broadband either. Man in the shop said most of South Wales couldn't, so why advertise it in shop window:confused: I didn't bother signing up to the £10 deal as it would cost me over £30 in total so no saving.

Well you dont appear to be missing much of a service.Heres what Overseer says in the Ispreview thread mentioned above.

""I'd like to add to this that so far, in over 12 days, TalkTalk have not responded to a single e-mail I have sent regarding the issue, responded to my letter I sent over a week ago, or even been available to answer their customer service telephone. Hardly the customer focused enterprise they advertise, and describe in their code of practice."
