CAll me cynical, but somehow I suspect that Charles Dunston has thought this offer through rather better than many of the people that might be applying...
http://forums.moneysavingexpert.com/showpost.html?p=2034074&postcount=155Time has moved on (much quicker than it used to - or so it seems at my age) and my previous advice on residential telephony has been or is now gradually being overtaken by changes in the retail market. Hence, I have now deleted links to my previous 'pearls of wisdom'. I sincerely hope they helped save some of you money.0 -

Don't think they provide inclusive texts like BT but I send texts via talk talk with a text enabled phone.0 -

Beware too that they specifiy that the (18 month) contract starts as soon as the phone line is 'delivered' - so that's when the £70 termination fee kicks in.0 -

I live in Sutton Coldfield. When I looked at the TalkTalk site to get the "free" broadband, I got the following response :Unfortunately, because BT still controls your telephone exchange and we have to connect you through their equipment, we can't offer you broadband for free at this time. However, we can offer you high-speed broadband at the great price of just £10 per month, when you sign up to our Talk3 international calling plan.0

Yes I get incoming text messages with TT0 -
Yes, but I call the States around weekly, and spend up to an hour on the phone. So that's why I chose the talk talk deal.
In all fairness, from what I understand Talk Talk aren't the only folks who make it difficult to cancel - aren't AOL meant to be a bit*h to cancel? And guess what...once the broadband is plugged in...I've got to cancel AOL dial up. *sigh*0 -

A single 622Mbps BT Central that can support up to 32,000 users costs around £140,000 per month, and each ADSL line has a charge of £8.40 per month. There are also long lead times of something like sixty working days to install a large BT Central, so if demand continues to exceed expectations there may be delays for customers.

If TT are signing up customers 5 times faster than they expected or planned for, one wonders just how many claims for whose negligence will be aired before the mud clears.0 -
I knew it, better the devil you know as they say.
I signed up for TalkTalk on the day they issued their new free BB, received a confirmation email and nothing since.
I got a call from BT easter sunday telling me someone had put a stop on the line and to confirm it, i said yes it was ok but I still havent decided 100% yet.
He said he would still put a stop and wait for a call from me.
Anyway I assumed it was for the phone line not the BB.
I rang up BT yesterday to tell them to stop the line takeover as I had changed my mind due to reviews. I was told there was no order on my line to be stopped at all, but she would put a note on the system.
Last night my BB went off at 10pm, rang BT this morning and they said I had cancelled my BB, basically talktalk had put an order in to change my BB and now it was off.
And what have I had off TT, zilch, nothing not a bean. No letters, no BB sign up details, so now I have had to revert to dial up.
So the advert says free Broadband for life, wheres my BB then.0
