I'm pretty sure you can still use your own router - though set up and support for any problems with it won't be provided by them.

If your current broadband is via the phoneline (ADSL) and your current router is a combined ADSL Modem and router, then all you do is change your username and password to that given by you new ISP (Primus for example).
It's PAC not PAC Code, it's MAC not MAC Code, it's PIN not PIN Number, it's ATM not ATM Machine, it's LCD not LCD Display, it's DVD not DVD disc... It's no one not noone, It's a lot not alot, It's got not gotten... Panini is the plural of panino - there is no S!!

Update on pricing for Primus Option 2 with Broadband.
As I am about to go BB phoned them and they have a deal with Option 2. If you take this package and Broadband, you get a rebate which brings down the cost of the BB to £12.98 per month. This is for a 12-month contract, free connection & modem 1MB speed and no download limit. They are sending me the T & C's by e-mail so if I pick up on anything will let you know. This is a good deal. Line rental stays with BT.

PS. IF ANYONE HAS ALREADY SIGNED AND IS USING THE BROADBAND CONNECTION CAN WE HAVE A RATING PLEASE !!!

Update on Primus- Have now received the T & C's (will forward to anyone who wants a look, send me your email address by PM) and cannot find anything untoward on them. The only thing is, I am worried about being a guinea-pig for their service. Is there anyone out there who has already signed up or is receiving the service ??

Hi, have just signed up, I havent had the T&C yet .The deal I took was 2mb, unlimited use and free calls in the evening and weekend ( limited to 90 mins per call).I took the 12 month contract and opted for online billing .Its going to cost me £16.99 which I think is excellent .I will let you know what the service is like in a weeks time
  • I had the call - from Graham too!

He told me the 1M was 12.98 per month (I have their phone option 2 package working fine) and explained that they actually charge 18 quid per month, but rebate 15 quid each quarter...... (Guess they are moneysaving too!)

Having said that, they were also offering three months free after the 12 months tie-in, which meant it worked out to about £10.50 per month!

I think I will give this a go, as its cheap as chips!
    Anyone actually signed up yet?!

    Cheers.

With Primus Save Option 2 does everything go through them or are you allowed to use other CPS such as 18185 /1899 for instance, to dial 0870/0871 & 0845 numbers and International calls where the rate may be cheaper ?

Yes, definitely. You can still use other carriers such as 1899 etc.
    I do.

Just signed up to the landline deal via uswitch; so will be a customer in c. 2 weeks. May well be interested in BB too - can't find it on their website so do I have to wait for Graham or one of his colleagues to phone me about it, & if so, how long into your contract did they offer it to you?

    Thanks.

1899, 18866 and 18185 are indirect carriers, so yes you can use them as well as your CPS provider, you can only have one CPS provider on your line, as the system can only pre-select one carrier, you then select the indirect carrier manually yourself (by prefixing the call).
