Primus DNS is very slow. Use http://www.opendns.com for faster DNS resolutions.
All I ask is the chance to prove that money can't make me happy.

What are Primus like on p2p? Do they throttle at all?

I have been offered line rental and up to 8meg BB for 23.99 as an existing option 2 customer. This is unfortunately for 18 month contract only.

Also what is it like for online gaming, as I am soon to buy a PS3?

    Thanks, j.

  • Is this really that good of a deal??

1Mb speeds for £14.99pm? Why bother when you can get 8Mb speeds and unlimited usage from Eclipse Internet?

Can anyone tell me why Primus never figure in any of the comparison sites for BB. They are not mentioned by Martin/MSE except in this thread and yet most of the users are fairly satisfied with them. I am still trying to get a beter deal but no luck so far and am reluctant to sign up for 18 months.

The difference between the £22.99 per month quoted to me and the £23.99 per month actual is that they give you the first month of line rental free, so this knocks off £11 for the first year. Not quite £22.99 but almost.

To be truthful I dont know the answer to your question but I heard of them through this thread.I will say this for them I've just done a 12month contract 3 months into a 18th month contract and am a very heavy user I've only had 1 problem with them on the week end when bt where doing some thing to the line all in all thats better then most . May be the mods could fag your question with Martin

Why don't you phone them - it costs nothing, as does their customer service - all freephone. Here is the number 0800 036 0094, this will get you customer services or sales.
