Easy... pack her bags for her and stop feeding her... Once she leaves the house change the lock and leave her bags outside the front door.DFW Nerd #025DFW no more! Officially debt free 2017 - now joining the MFW's!

she has plenty of savings, but obv wont spend that on groceries (very often anyway) or rent, so prob no council flat. I thought you would all think I was a horrid cow for not looking after my mother......November Grocery Challenge: £12.71/£100

Not in the least...
I wouldn't want my mum living here with me! Good grief you have let the woman live there rent free HOW long??? like it doesn't cost you to feed her, keep her warm, keep the light on, her Sky etc... not to mention the hours of cleaning you do for her...

Oh, I think we've got a pretty good idea of who the horrid cow is in this particular scenario. Get a copy of your local newspaper and tell her to start looking for somewhere else to live. I'd give her about three week's notice max0

I have just been in to see her and told her to find somewhere else to live. She started to be abusive and I said that if she dared to ever talk to me like that I would ask her to leave immediately. She became meeker at this point. I am so angry I am shaking.November Grocery Challenge: £12.71/£100

Least if she won't spend her own money on groceries & you stop spending yours on them for her she'll lose weight!0

and we pay all the bloody bills so she can lie on her sofa watching TV all day!!
Confiscate the remote !
Make her go outside to smoke !
Give her beans on toast for her dinner 5 nights a week !
Personally, I would have kicked off at her a long time ago, and been sorely tempted to kick her down the stairs. You're a mixture of a mug and a saint.
Tell her your OH is going to leave you if she doesn't move out !.....................I'm smiling because I have no idea what's going on ...:)

Oh no, I meant family groceries, she stacks her room full of treats and I have to pick up all the wrappers when I clean her rooms!! She eats my healthy meals, then stuffs her face all night!November Grocery Challenge: £12.71/£100

actually, she does go out to smoke, I would not tolerate that for a moment. However she does smoke right outside the door and still makes the house stink cos she smokes so much.November Grocery Challenge: £12.71/£100

Well done. Deep breath, stand up to her - you've done it. Now you've started, don't let yourself down and give in!
When she is in a better/calmer mood, maybe that is the time to tell her that you love her very much but she cannot carry on treating you like an animal/slave etc. and you will no longer tolerate it. You wouldn't take it from OH or a person you worked with, so why your Mum??0
