Internet Explorer is definately set to 'never dial a connection'?

If you type 192.168.2.1 into Internet Explorer can you connect to the router?

hi scheming_gypsy, right, definatly set to "never dial a connection". Difference is now after doing what you said is that I can now see the router via 192.168.2.1. Are we getting closer?

yep, all your settings are right and you can connect to the router. All the PC's can get onto the net, obviously as you're posting so we're looking at something local to the laptop.

might be worth disabling any security you've got installed.. just for the sake of trying everything

I have done all you say, disabled all Norton Internet Security on laptop and no firewalls running apart from the one included with the router, but still same problem. Hope you have something else up your sleeve. Cannot see any other security activated. What else could be the problem?
