No, it's because Simply-Fone don't provide it as a destination anyway. This is their commercial decision and nothing to do with O2. Try a different 07744 provider

According to the Simply-Fone website, Australia is one of their destinations. Will try the websites you suggest.

No I have a contract from CPW and have been calling 0844 from 3 months, never charged. Always included in bundled minutes.

I bought 2 phones from Dial-a-phone (although I must stress that I would never use them again!!) and plan to buy from e2save soon.

As the deal comes with heavily rebated line rental (ie 12 months with e2save) I use my free minutes to call my just dial 0870 number as I get 1000 off peak. I then use the remaining 25 minutes of x network minutes to call an 07744 number to then call the just dial 0870 number and use up the rest of my free minutes.

It won't dent things too much when they stop letting me use those 25 minutes, but at least I can use the 1000 minutes up on 0870 numbers, and get a little back as well.

This is in addition to the line rental rebates, and the ability to sell the phone after the 12 month contract has ended.

Why is https://www.cheapercallrate.com/LowPricePhoneCalls out of subject as far as O2 and 0844 numbers are concerned

It does not matter what 0844 number you call out of your O2 inclusive minutes whether its a 1p up to a 5p one they all come out of your inclusive minutes,and their all charged the same outside of your inclusive minutes.So if you could allocate your intl destination an 0844 number from that site.(I indicated some destinations were dearer) then you would either save money or minutes as you would not be charged or start using your minutes until you got through.Where as if you were using a normal dial through 0844 number you start paying/using minutes as soon as you hit the annoucement .So if they are engaged out of range you have paid.So i am talking about saving money.

Another advantage is that you can Divert your O2 mobile to an 0844 one out of your inclusive minutes.So if your on Holiday or working in an area covered by their 0844 numbers you can divert your O2 mobile to a landline eg hotel and avoid expensive Intl roaming charges.
A friend goes to Spain a lot and while he,s there he diverts his O2 mobile to his 0844 number which piggy backs on his Spanish Apartment Landline this cost him nothing to recieve his O2 calls as it comes out of his inclusive O2 minutes.

Ok it does not work to every Intl Destination but it does not mean that people who call the numerous countries who do get an 0844 number allocated should not benefit from it.

(If its any help any Intl destination with a calling price of 5p a minute or less mentioned on the site is allocated an 0844 number.)So you can even call/divert to some Intl Mobiles using the Idea. EG Canada, China.

Actually it looks likt they are free:

Inclusive call minutes can be used to call some non-geographical and special services numbers with the following prefixes: 0800, 0808, 0844, 0845 and 0870. Once the inclusive minute allowance has been used up, calls to these numbers will be charged as calls to standard UK landlines at the prevailing tariff. Some exceptions may apply and calls to some numbers may be free of charge.

You can normally call 0844 numbers free from your O2 x-net minutes, your inclusive "O2 and Landline" minutes only tariffs, and calls to 0844 are usually included in "Leisure Time" and "Leisure Time All". tariffs.

If in doubt check with O2.Or make a short test call,and then check to see if you have been charged.

O2 payg users can also call them from inclusive/bolt on cross network minutes.

Be careful however if people ring you and you exceed your bundle minutes or if you are on leisuretime and receive call during daytime... you can get some nasty bill shock. Easier to just change your voicemail annoucement asking people to reach you temporarily on the 0844 or 0870 instead..
