just to add i did get a phonecall today from orange although i missed it theyre calling me back tomorrow
    What goes around-comes around
  • I went into the Orange shop today to pay my final bill, they said they are not changing the prices after all now !
  • I got that text from orange saying we're not making the changes and would love you to stay call us on 150. So I did, got transferred to cancellations and the bloke there informed me that since I'd called back they were taking that as an indication that I wanted to stay with Orange!! I explained I was only phoning as a result of their text and thought I might be offered some sort of deal and he said they'd been told that anyone calling back to enquire about a new deal should be told they are no longer eligible to use their PAC code, or rather they are but will have to pay up the remainder of their contract! Anyhoo, I explained to him politely how this seemed a very sneaky tactic and to be fair he agreed and spoke to his boss. He came back and said he was going to 'knock me out of my contract' and that I was free to use the PAC code again. I'm glad I got that guy as he was very friendly and helpful but it seems strange, to say the least, that Orange would let me get out of a 24 month contract after only 7 months rather than offer me a new phone and/or money off my existing contract for me to stay with them!

This happened to me and I could still phone and text from the orange number but all texts and phone calls were sent to the 02 sim card. The orange sim card was cut off after 1 day so just keep an eye on it :)

Ok, quick question to which I haven't been able to find the answer?

I upgraded on 30/07/09, so presumably agreed to the "new" T&Cs (ie those that have subsequently been scrapped). I agreed to pay £5 a month for an "unlimited" web bundle (I understand this equates to 500mb but have no real idea what that means!).

My question is, am I now going to be better of because Orange are not implementing the "new" T&Cs to which I signed up to? Or do I need to do something to ensure I'm on the "original" T&Cs??

Thanks in anticipation of any help offerred!;)

Mine is currently doing that! Two phones working on the same number- very confusing.
They said it takes two days for the orange number/phone to go dead......We'll see.

You wouldn't really have been affected if they did change the T+Cs as your 'unlimited' data allowance should have meant you wouldn't go over so wouldn't have incured any charges.
500mb is rather a lot of web browsing on a mobile, unless you watch tv etc all day on the mob you'll be fine. I use email a lot, and I only use about 20mb a month.

I can forsee a problem! I'm going to give them a ring and make sure it's all gone through okay. Be just my luck to be hit with a hefty bill.
  • just called orange, they wont let me cancel the contract due to them deciding not to change the charges unless i pay 300+

but i have not recieved a text yet telling me they are not going to put these changes forward.
is there still any way to cancel?
