Orange Price changes ?

Hello I've recently taken a contract out with orange around three months ago and already I'm having a lot of trouble. I'm on the panther 35 websave contract which lasts for 18 months. It allows me unltd internet 600 anytime mins and 500 texts. I also have insurance covered by orange which is £6 extra per month. Ever since I've taken this contracyt out I've had a lot of trouble and gone over the limit by atleast £10 everytime. I hope someone can give me advice I just rang orange to ask for a copy of their terms and conditions and they said it can take 7 to 10 days to come out. I set up the contract over the phone and the lady who set it up didn't give me any breach or termination clauses if I potentially wanted to close and I know its not definate that they should consult but I should have had some sort of documentation??
I have the blackberry 8900 curve phone. Should I ring up and say I want to cancel due to price and increases? Would I have to return the phone? If I got to keep it could I take a new contract out with a new company? Please can someone get back to me as I'm very agitated and I am losing sleep just thinking about this. All suggestions will be greatly appreciated. Thank you.
(P.S. When speaking to a customer service rep yday from orange we got talking about getting taken to court and the rep said something like 'its one person against a multi million dollar company who can afford the best lawyers?' And then he started laughing!!)0 -

Hi. Your network Terms and Conditions are included in the manuals that came with the phone.I spent 25 years in the mobile industry, from 1994 to 2019. Worked for indies as well as the big networks, in their stores also in contact centres. I also hold a degree in telecoms engineering so I like to think I know what I’m talking about 😂0 -
Yes but shouldn't I be consulted before I took the contract out not after? Sorry to pester but I do really need somebodies input.0

Hi, I am afraid you have missed the boat as far as cancelling due to the recent terms and conditions fiasco. With reference to just cancelling the contract you would have to pay the remaining 15 months as settlement so it would seem a pointless exercise.Your only hope would be to ring customer services and try to increase the mins/texts to a level where you won't go over, this could be paid for by cancelling the insurance on the phone.0

Damn. Even now that they have altered their prices? ill ring them in a short while to see other plans? Do you have any recommendations on a contract?0

They climbed down and cancelled the call charge changes so that loophole doen't exist anymore. Work out what you are going over on calls/texts/internet and try to get what you need for £40/m and cancel the insurance. They won't give you a different contract but may change the details on this contract as long as you are increasing your payment.I think you will be stuck on the 18 month contract though.0

Sounds to me like you shouldn't have taken a contract out at all. Cancel the insurance, you have a years warranty with Orange on the handset anyway, add a text bundle, or just use the phone less0

I had actually unsubscribed from this thread, but thought on the offchance I would see what was being said, and I have to be honest. I know there are a few bad eggs at Orange (they are at EVERY company), but I am very VERY passionate about the level of good service that I give. My opinion is that if you are not willing to be the best at customer service, then you shouldn't be in the job. Obviously the people on here haven't spoken to me. I'm not being big headed at all, but I know I am good. As with any job, the underperformers leave. I'm still there.
There are people who have my extension number and still contact me about things years on after their first call (and no, they're not still trying to resolve the first problem!), and they are still with us to this day.
I know this thread is a very negative one, and I'm opening myself to all sorts of abuse being on here, but please respect that we are not all robots. Some of us actually do care! If I didn't, I would be here now on my day off posting this! Every company screws up now and again, and we're in the spotlight now, but the other networks have done more drastic things in the past, remember that.
Like I say, we're not all demons. Some of us are passionate about customer service, like me, and I recoiled in horror reading some of your experiences.
Do you think I liked having people coming through shouting to me about "their f'ing rights and you will f'ing cancel my f'ing contract", when I'd merely introduced myself and how I could help?
I don't deserve that. No-one does.
I don't harbour any ill-will against the people who have shouted and screamed at me, who have threatened to "be outside later" and to those who wished I'd die of cancer (yes, one person actually said that when I couldn't actually assist them any further - of course they aren't to know my father recently died of cancer, and if you don't know what that's like, it is the most debilitating, humiliating thing for the sufferer and the hardest thing to ever witness). I simply go to work, do the best job I can, then go home to my loving family.
That's about it. I had to get that off my chest. Sorry.
noone deserves abuse your absolutely right and its sick someone said you should die(sorry to hear about your father i also lost my mother to it)
i recently rang up orange about my signal the woman was very nice but couldnt help really and then i was waiting for acall back which still hasnt happned yet-im sure everyones busy but it would have been courteous to at least ring me backWhat goes around-comes around0 -
Just wondering has anyone else got the text to say about the price changes, but not the text saying their not going change them? I'm assuming the price changes still won't actually happen on my contract?0
-
Nope, they appear to have been notifying customers in batches, they may not have gotten round to notifying you when they decided not to go ahead with the changes which would mean you wouldn't hear anything at all from Orange.0
