  • I rang orange today. They said I received a text on the 18th June and only had 30 days within that time to disconnect. Apparently now it doesn't matter anyway because they are not increasing call charges so I can't leave as I still have 12months on my contract. Anyone know if this is true?

yes it is true. you are too late. people really need to stop asking now, there are 118 pages, the last 30 probably just reiterating that people can no longer cancel.

this thread should really be locked now, it's old news.

I'm sure i'll probably get abuse for this, what with all the recent posts telling people that this has all now gone away etc etc, but......

I managed to cancel about 3 weeks ago and Orange said they would send me the PAC code and give me 30 days to cancel.

I've only today transferred my mobile number to another provider (thereby cancelling the Orange contract).

My question is, do you think Orange will still honour the cancellation or now ask me to pay up the remainder of the contract following the announcement that the charges will no longer apply. It seems to me that there are mixed messages with some people getting a final bill asking them to pay up the balance of their contracts.

BTW, I haven't received a text from Orange saying that the charges are not going ahead.

I think there was a post on page 91 (12th Aug I think) of this thread from an Orange representative stating that anyone who cancelled prior to the Orange backtrack on the charges will still be allowed to cancel so i'll be using that as ammo if they do try and charge me!

    Thanks

How long did it take for people to recieve their final bil after moving their number away from Ornage? Was it your norma bill date?

I ported my number away on 25/08/09 and havent recieved anything yet.

Just normal billing date, and also still had/have limited access to online account so could see what to expect.
  • Hi guys

Just wanted to say, if you think you have a good case, keep fighting for what you believe is right.

I rang on the 11th Aug to terminate my contract and was told by the CSR to call back the following day. Called back first thing the following morning only to be told they were not going ahead with the changes so i had no rights to terminate.

My arguement was that the CSR denied me my consumer rights on the 11th (before the cancellation of the changes. At that time i DID have a right to cancel.

I have been in dispute with the executive office by email for the last few weeks, and today, I finally recieved an email from them agreeing to terminate my contract and included a pac code for me :)
  • OK here goes..

When all this started i did call up and asked to cancel my contract but was told that i couldn't as i didnt exceed my mins and therefore the new charges would not effect me.

Now the way i understand it...At that point in time that advice was wrong..

Can i at this stage still cancel ? Bearing in mind the information i was given at that time was wrong and i was denied my rights ?

    Darren
