  • I've just got off the phone from resolutions , friendly lady i spoke to but was told i didn't meet the eligibilty (sp) , was told as i haven't gone over my minutes and haven't used and 08 numbers then she couldn't disconnect me. Said I wasn't happy bla bla bla , was told she understands my point but she is only doing what legal team have passed down. My contract is up on nov 5th anyway so she has set up disconnection for that date.

I did log a complaint with ofcom his morning and have a ref number , not sure if it's worth the hassle of trying the ceo office tommorrow and try again?!

Read my post above. I hadnt used them number or gone over my minutes but using the CEO route I managed to cancel!!! Didnt even need to get a OFCOM reference. Worked for me hun!!

I phoned ofcom earlier and phoned CEO with a reference but still did not budge, even when i mentioned 'a friend' had managed to cancel under the same terms as me, i also mentioned that all their staff are being very inconsistent with cancellations but he said 'look everyone is singing from the same hymn book here, i'm just doing my job, there's no way you can cancel'. so i'm going to phone ofcom back tomorrow to see if i can escalate it further

Spoke to a proper nice chap on the exec line called rob. told me the complaints team finished at 5 and i should call back then.
but he also said that because i took the contract out with carphone that they should be able to do something for me if Ofcom advised it.
so i got the carphone head office number for tomorrow morning to call.

he checked for 08** numbers dialled and there is 1 dialled on this account this month so im hoping when i ring back tomorrow i'll have grounds to cancell

Did you have a bad credit history in the past at all? If it affects it badly then I'll probably not cancel!

Hey, yeah i've had a ccj. But im thinking it could be down to the fact i have just had a credit card and loan recently. Spoke to someone in the orange shop today as i was going to go back with them on a new contract but got refusd with them even thou i pay my bills on time and in full, he said it could be down to me having a account with them already. Im just going to be good an not go over my 1600 mins a month :rotfl:

Me too again - but I have an employee at Orange waiting to get through, who will phone me back.

The nice guy I spoke to went home - He told me when he was back at work so I am not really complaining. I kept him half an hour after his shift ended talked.

...Just got a text in response to my previous enquiry.

Oh I cant wait till this fully goes through - I'm doubtful now :s

I am in a bit of a dilemma. I have a Dolphin 25 websave 200 minutes 200 texts unlimited data and web at £10 a month. I don't think I could get a better deal anywhere else although I wouldn't mind getting out of the remaining 15 months on the contract and staying put on a rolling monthly contract, if they would allow me do that.

Has anyone else managed do something similar?

in a similar situation, has anyone received a discount of an already discounted line rental?

has anyone managed to get a free phone without renewing the contract out of this?

iv read the thread up to 50 and jumped from 50 to 80 and read on so my question may have been answered already, but i haven't got the time to read those pages
