  • Phoned up last night and spoke to a lady in insurance who phoned through she came back and said I was not eligable, I persisted so she phoned back through then spoke to a women who said, " I understand you want to cancel your contract due to the charges" I agree and she said, "right thats all cancelled for you." Result but she said my contract wouldnt be cancelled until I recieved and registered my PAK so going to phone and see if I can just have it immediatley cancelled

managed to cancel last night about 8ish, my sim is now inactive, so all done and dusted.
Keep persisting folks, I know it's really disheartening when you get a knockback and have to deal with rude CSR, the girl I spoke to last night couldn't have been any nicer.
I called orange customer service about 5 times, and orange executive office once. got there in the end tho

    :T:j:T:j

what did you have to say ?
  • I've tried 4 or 5 times in the last couple of days but have always been knocked back and also my account has been flagged.

I have registered my complaint with Ofcom and also phoned the CEO department.

Do you think I should just continuously ring the disconnections this morning or the Customer services dept.

    Thanks
  • Got my contract cancelled at 2nd attempt last night. I have 3 contracts with orange atm. Cancelled my main one last night and have a new ps3 on its way to me wednesday and shall be porting my number to o2 then back again. What i want to know is if anyone knows FOR SURE if there is a penalty from outside companies for free gifts received? My wife's contract came with a nintendo wii and wii fit from e2save a few months ago. Last night i was told i could cancel her phone too, but i was wondering if there would be any charge from e2save for the equipment?? Think this is a grey area atm!!! A post in this thread said someone was told they would have to pay £500 "commission lost" for such products?!?!?!?!?
  • Same here, tried a few times to cancel but to no avail. Waiting for a callback from a supervisor. Orange CSR said they they would just reiterate the same thing she told me. I'll keep plugging away and keep you updated

Said I had called executive office and spoke to Helen, she then put me through to a guy called Caine, he said he had to up hold his collegues decision until the outcome of the meeting in the afternoon and that I should call back later that evening (he never said that he point blank said NO, but she didn't know that!!)
Got her to ask her manager about the meeting and low and behold, canceled no problem at all.
I know it's a pain but it definately does pay to keep trying.

I mentioned the meeting last night as was told they were not told about an change till this morning.

    it's this inconsistency thats frustrating.

would be greatfull to everyone today who mentions the meeting and posts what happens

I can't beleive the inconsistency in their treatment of customers, you don't get the same story from any of them.
Keep trying and do let us kow how you get on

    xx
  • Just got through after 10 minutes on the phone and then got cut off immediately by the operator (don't know if it was by accident) but not a good start.

As posted earlier in the thread, I cancelled at the first attempt last Friday (asking for the PAC code).

I sensed that it wouldn't be too long before Orange would realise the scale of this problem for them (that of large numbers of people wanting to terminate resulting in hundreds of thousands of pounds of lost revenue).

So I am not surprised in the slightest that people now have problems.

Having been gifted a way out this time I will never have a contract again.

Thanks Orange. You made me realise what a waste of money phones really are!
