Told him if I was to use all my mins up this month then call back. Then I would have gone over the minutes and by their "rule" (which they've made up) qualify. He said I would if it had generated a bill.
Is this worth a go, using all my remaining mins and then call back?
I asked this and was pretty much told ha nothing you can do about it as the 30 days automatic acceptance of the T+Cs would be before my next bill - NOT HAPPY0 -
hi...please help!!!! i rang up saying want to cancel due to the increase, he said well its only a certain criteria that are allowed and i dnt match it. he said i havent gone over my minutes so i said well that not relevant as i might so it will affect me but he said well you havent done so and its like saying well i might win the lottery. is it true you need to be in a criteria or can i cancel??0

Seems to be a fair number of people who are being refused the chance to cancel their contracts so I thought I would add to my earlier posts by posting the text from the website that people are directed to by the txt message from Orange.
"changes to your monthly plan
Between 14 September and 23 September we'll be changing the cost of mobile internet browsing and some calls outside of the allowance included in your plan.
mobile internet browsing down to just 58.7p a day
From 23 September our mobile browsing charges are changing. Instead of paying £2.94 per MB up to a maximum of £1.47 per day, you will be charged a flat rate of 58.7p per day, subject to a 25MB fair use policy.
Still no luck cancelling my contract on the call charges front so I thought I'd look at it from the data charge perspective. I use the data services little and often (eg. check email, assisted GPS) like I assume a lot of people do and as far as I can see this will mean significant changes to my data charges - for example, from how I read it, if i just use mapping (using AGPS) I will get charged 58.7p per day!
Rang them with this argument.. but they still won't budge and claimed that there wouldn't be any detrimental effect to me, but I can't see how this cannot be the case - anyone?0 -

Hi Guys
I phoned orange on friday night only to be told i was not able to cancel under the new rules they have made up, i was not happy as a few days previouse i was told i could cancel but chose to wait a few days to consider my options, when the disconnections team said i was not able to cancel i was put back to the very nice young lady who originally took my call she was very nice and simply said dial some of the 08 & 07 numbers before your next billing date, after the end of the call i rang a 07 number and then on saturday morning rang a 07 & 08 number, then rang orange at lunch time and hey presto contract cancelled, this might work for others who are having problems, you need to be firm but not nasty...Good Luck0 -

I'm slightly worried now, when i cancelled i was just told i'd be disconnected, i asked about the bill she said it's paid pre-monthly and i could cancel the direct debit immidiatly. However she mentioned nothing about the crediting back that some people are mentioning. Because i didnt ask for a PAC Code are they going to mess me around or should i just see if im disconnected monday and cancel the DD ?0

The only problem with that, is that they'll say you used the minutes once you knew about the changes and therefore still not let people cancel

only if you want to continue with the number right ?0
