Humm I am not sure what to do now. I have cancelled my contract where I had 7 months or so left and they are issuing my PAC code. As previously ask I wanted to know if i could use the PAC code to start a new orange contract and have had mixed answers. Orange said no I can't, whereas people here and elsewhere have said yes I can.
If anyone knows for sure that you 100% can use the PAC code for another orange contract
Many Thanks0 -
I am waiting to see other peoples results today before I call. Hopefully the Sunday team will be a bit more understanding!0

I'm waiting for the right moment to cancel because of the £150 cashback when I took out my Contract in June.
I received the text message yesterday, so can I wait till the 2 months of my contract are up (Quidco validation period) and then cancel (probably around the 22nd August).
Would I still be eligible to cancel then?
I've just had a thought...
If I call up today and request my PAC code and then use it AFTER the 22nd August, I would therefore be fulfilling the 2 months connection period.
Would that work?0 -

I wouldn't bet your life on it. I have just tried and got a nice soft spoken lady who said let me check and went away for a few minutes.
BUT ...same result... she came back and said you don't qualify and she also mentioned that I had been informed of the same thing yesterday on several occasions.:mad:0 -
I just got off the phone to Orange and was told I wasn't eligible to be released from my contract due to my usage over the last 3 mths. I asked if that meant that the change in Ts and Cs wouldn't affect me in the future and was told that they would. Therefore I asked again how then does it mean I can't be released; I was told that they have checked with their legal team and if I haven't had that usage in the past 3 mths then I can't be released. The guy was soooo rude and gave a really bad service with other questions that I had so I am expecting a phone call from a supervisor to complain - do you know they don't have a complaints dept??!!
That Ofcom link doesn't work for me - does anyone know the link to complain to them?
Thank
Edited to say I got thru to the link!0 -
Cancelled my contract with orange on friday, however just wanted to be filled in on a few things, a PAC Code is only requested if people want to transfer numbers correct ?
I'm not bothered about having a new number in future so i did not ask for this..
However i was told my contract would be cancelled and my phone would be disconnected at midnight tonight, so just to clear any confusion i have cancelled this contract just as id have cancelled it had i asked for a PAC ?0 -

Damn, Might just wait until Monday then when we hear from people how have spoke to Ofcom and Solicitors. Can't see how this three month rule is fair at all.0 -
I have reported the matter to Ofcom (though they won't respond to me directly) and have emailed a complaint to Orange. I'm still amazed that they don't have a complaints dept!
It's not only the releasing from the contract business; it's also that those who don't have the usage in the past 3 mths have not yet received a text (well I haven't!) and so we have not been officially informed of the change. It would be different if we weren't affected but we are - our Ts and Cs are still changing!
Also the clauses in the previous Orange Ts and Cs re the releasing from the contract do not state anything about the 3 mths rule. All it says is that if Orange significantly change the charges then you can be released - or words to that effect.0 -
I think it sounds sensible to me, no geedy at all.
Exactly. We are on MoneySAVINGexpert, yes? Why anyone would take just a decrease in their bill over the same decrease in monthly payment, better deal, new phone and a free gift is just stupid. Anyone that gets annoyed about it is obviously annoyed at themselves for not thinking of it :P0
