There is nothing to deal with! They are good kids, no trouble at all.

I wouldn't have allowed my daughter to be sent to her room for 6 hours just for forgetting her PE kit. Too harsh imo.

I am worried the same will happen tonight. What should I do if it does?

If it is not the PE kit it will be something else. He will find something I am sure or it will be our son that does something tonight.

I also think its very harsh! She's 13, still a little girl and lets be honest her head will be in the clouds anyway as a teenager.

Its a P.E kit, no biggie in the scheme of things really. My preferred method of punishment would have been to make her wash and iron it herself, but to send her to her room for that long and leave her without saying goodnight?! She must have felt truly awful.

Regardless what OH or the kids have done we never go to bed with ill feeling.

Lil, please forgive me if im barking up the wrong tree here, but you seem scared of him.
If you are, I would question whether the relationship is good for your children anyway?

I am scared of his moods and of arguing in front of the kids. He would not do anything physical.

And I thought I was strict! I think thats way too harsh and if it were me then I would ban the pc/mp3 etc for the night but not send her to her room from 3.30pm till the morning. It was hardly a major crime...

maybe you should go and get her pe kit tonight to avoid this situation im sorry if it seemd i was being heartless but i just think being sent to your room is hardly that bad in the scheme of things

but i would agree with the previous op that perhaps the real problem is your relationships

im sorry that i called you childish but your first post gave them impression that you were ignoring him because he wouldnt do what you wanted ..
