Halifax online banking isn't working for me. It's prompted me every time to change my password, but still nothing. The 'helpful' guy on the 'helpdesk' says he can't 'help' me as there are problems with their computer systems.
I'm having the same problem. Every time I input my username and password then click continue, the two fields just clear themselves and goes back to the start. Same problem on a few different browsers.

I've had the same problem today, trying to access an account via the halifax online site...only when I tried the bank of Scotland page it let me change the password and log in. However I did phone the help desk who were unable to help me because apparently I don't exist on the system. My sister works beside some IT guys responsible for some of this and they are all patting themselves on the back for how well the migration went, she is going in tomorrow to tell them how it's going from a customers point of view.

Thing is there are millions of Halifax customers, and for 99.9% of them it probably did go smoothly. Of course there are people like you and others on this forum that it didnt go well for and you are having problems. But these forums (and others like it) dont accurately represent the whole customer base. And by nature the people posting will be the ones having problems, not the ones that arent

Of course tests were carried out but as it's the biggest integration of any uk bank there was bound to be glitches. I have banked with Halifax for over 30 years have been lucky that any member of staff I have spoken to has been most helpful. I agree the situation has not been ideal online but it's not a life or death situation, I think we need tp put it into perspective!

You would think when you log on that there would be a message to explain that they are still having problems with our accounts and that certain information is still not available. They did have a message for the first few days but the warning has now been taken down !!

I know that for most people it has worked fine, but for those of us that have problems its so frustrating when it took over an hour on the phone today to discover that I don't exist and that I have to go into a branch to sort it out. Not being able to access an account when your mother's nursing home fees need paid is a problem.

This is not the only problem I have had with HBOS. This is the last in a long line of issues regarding POA, and I am looking into moving banks now...if I can get to the money.

  • Just called the online helpdesk who said the online site has been down for the last 25 minutes. Just goes back to the login page when you enter username and password.
  • I love this forum...I'm having the same problem (every time I input my user id and password then click 'continue' it just goes back to the blank login page, no error message or anything).

I was beginning to worry something was up with my connection or that I'd been tricked into putting my details into a fake site but thought I'd check here before panic set in lol. Good to know it's not just me having problems tonight (although obviously it would be better if none of us were!). Hopefully it's sorted soon!
Common sense?...There's nothing common about sense!
  • Thats odd as I can get onto mine fine and have everything showing at the moment
