Missed call scam

I've just had a recorded message when I answered my home phone.

The message went someting like 'Hi this is Steve from DHL just wondering when would be convenient to deliver your aerial please call us back on 07012907216'

Obviously a scam because I'm not expecting an aerial and I've not given my new number out to aybody..

My elderly neighbour received a postcard from a firm called Eurotrust asking her to phone----0870 033 0288----and she was kept on hold for 15 minutes before she put the phone down [she needed to go to the bathroom lol]
She doesn't know who they are. Anybody know this firm?

I've had a few missed calls of that sort, and also a suspicious text. I don't follow up stuff I don't recognise. When I text I say who I am, and when I ring I leave message if the call aint taken... I expect the same from those who call me. Otherwise they'll have to call again...

i rang one back the other day and a voice said i'm sexy and you need me so i quickly hung up wont be doing that again. does anyone know who this is from or had one.

Same here, if they don't leave a message how am I meant to know what they want I'm faaar to busy to return their call

I would like to say a huge thanks to you greensprout! Yesterday we got a message left on our BT 1571, the caller started talking before it started recording so all we had was a message asking us to call back the office on 07012907216.
Me and my brother are both looking for new jobs so rather than phoning back and not knowing who was calling or which of us they were calling for I decided to type the number into google. The only result I found was this thread telling me that it was a scam (I had no idea!!!!)
I have since warned all my email contacts and made a complaint to the telephone preference service. So I am very grateful for this forum and the people on here (my mum was going to call them back and I dread to think how much it may have cost us!)

Had a missed call on my mobile yesterday from this number 09011811000.
Did an ICSTIS check and got this:

We do not have any specific information about this number at present. However we can tell you the following.
This is classified as a Special Services, time charged calls up to and including 60ppm and total call cost not greater than £5 or fixed fee up to £1 per call (all prices are for BT customers) number.
It is provided by 1RT Group Ltd.
And costs 50ppc [in pence or pounds where 'pm' means 'per minute' and 'pc' means 'per call'].
This firm have been done for a fax back scam!

Strangely i got another missed call on my mobile this morning from this number 01494940634 who are a firm called Syntec UK Ltd who are based in High Wycombe and who relay calls from American firms trying to sell you cheap holidays and who also host prank call sites and who charge £1.50 a minute to do so.
Both look dodgy to me and I advise readers to give both numbers/companies a large 'Go Away' tablet.
Be careful out there.

Getting somewhere on this investigation.

01494940634 belongs to Advanced Communcations Group who are a mobile phone sales group hosted by Syntec Uk Ltd.
This was an unsolicited sales call!!:eek:
They have their own website.
They have obviously got my mobile number from T Mobile as the site mentions the links between them.

Now being plagued by another Syntec hosted number 02086312189.
If you answer the phone it is instantly transferred to another line which you can hear ringing...before i hung up.

So look out for the above numbers on your mobile phones-they are cold sales calls!:mad:
