kingshir - this is the problem, she doesn't really do anything!
She likes crafting but we share supplies so thats out.
She likes cooking/baking - but where would I start with that ETA: as she has most of the gadgets that are worth having!
She likes things for the house or herself that are practical - I've done the photoframe, candle thing
She is with my long-term Dad! so no Ann Summers really! (i hope)
I have a few bits, shoes, slippers, PJs, fudge but she knows about them. I need something to suprise her with, to show I've made the effort as we've had a bad year and her bday was overlooked really.
Doesn't really wear makeup. Only like stud earrings (I intend to get a black pair), not a gardener etc. bought her some perfume (again not a suprise). I need something innovative. I did think theatre tickets but not sure she would like them!
The theatre tickets sound nice, is there anything that she has never done but would like to do?
Had to smile, remember my mums 50th, it was the night she met my then b/f, we'd been going out 3mths, and he spent all night flirting with the waitress.....thou we stayed together for 2yrs.
My mums 60th was a big family and friends sunday lunch in the pub....she got there saw the relatives and walked out!!
As my father did one xmas - he brought her a hoover!
What about a trip on the orient express, I've done the xmas day trip, going again this yr, I redeemed 3,000 sainsburys points, and got 1/3rd off per ticket, sothis yrs came in at £127 each, instead of £195 xxxx rip dad... we had our ups and downs but we’re always be family xx0 -

I thought the cold I've had for 2 1/2 weeks was starting to go. Last night felt shocking and then woke up this morning feeling dreadful. Think will have to take the day off work and it is the Christmas Do on Fri - will see how I feel, might drive instead.

I feel for you fedupandskint!!
The honey and lemon didn't realy do much - wrong type of cough I think. It's definitely a flegmy chesty one (sorry if too much information!!). Didn't have the best night's sleep because of it, and woke at 6.30am feeling like I couldn't breathe. Did lots and lots of coughing and seems to have cleared a lot of the mucus (nice!), but my bump, back and throat are now hurting from the coughing! The cough is still there a bit, but maybe it's improving.... positive thinking.
All wrapping done except for 5 hampers which I hope to do either this morning or tomorrow, so almost there!! Plus there was a nice recipe for a choc chip pudding/cake in the Morrsions food mag which I'm tempted to try. Might leave that for tomorrow too though. See what that ones like!
Hope everyone else is feeling better and well on the way to being sorted for Christmas!!

How about a meal out in January - I'm always 'cooked' out by then!
A memory foam mattresss topper (so soft AND keeps the bed warm and cosy)
An electric overblanket (if she feels the cold).
A manicure/pedicure or a neck and back massage.
A trip to the movies with a drink before or after.
A girlie shopping trip (I love shopping with my grown up daughters).
A cut & blow-wave at her fav hairdresser.
A subscription to a magazine (I opted for the Radio Times and a Craft one).
Just a few ideas, to go along with everyone elses, which I hope you will find helpful!:D0 -
Hello all
I have been busy and have now finished my calendar coasters (for Nan's and teachers):
And our pots of gold for Christmas dinner!:
Fedupandskint and CDSmiler i hope you both feel better soon. X
I cant believe it is only 16 days to Christmas! I still have lots to sort out around the house. I always feel like a massive clean up and clear out at the busiest times of my life (Christmas and Holidays!)Member of Thrifty Gifty ~ Making money for Christmas 2010:£2 Savers club member no 40 ~ £54Amazon Vouchers BingoPort ~ £10Dooyoo Challenge Jan ~ £24.07 / £20.00 Yippee over target :j0 -

Thank you XX It was really easy. I got a beer mat covered it with scrap book paper. Stuck a calendar tab on the front with a co-ordinating bow and a small magnet on the back so it sticks on the fridge.
It is so easy even i managed to make them and they look fab and very low cost too :T
If i had time i would of made a load of them for my dd school christmas fayre. Will def do them for next year.

Hello all :j
Minor panic.............don't seem to have made christmas card for little grandson  well if I have blessed if I can find it...................and I've run out of card:eek: OH went to card shop for me..........shut all day cos it's early closing and its one of those towns where some shops are open some shut but card shops normally open in the morningOh well, I'll nip down tomorrow to get some card and hopefully some ideas (brains drawn a blank!). Got to get it all done by Saturday  Just hope it doesn't end up looking like a rush job...............:rotfl:
cdsmiler and fedupandskint -know the feeling with the cough thingy.............mine lingers on so OH got yet more cough linctus, soothers, strepsils etc. and today I've been ok............... Typical............but doesn't mean it's totally gone. Lemon and honey won't get rid of it but can be a nice soothing drink.............thats what I do -trouble is, too much of it and I get the most chronic acid indegestion:eek: Sort of 'no-win' situation at times. Fingers crossed so far today I've had no soothers or cough linctus...........:j
Had one course of anti-biotics that finished at the weekend and don't want anymore but if its on your chest maybe GP can give you something ?
Hope you both feel better soon:rolleyes:I would be unstoppable if only I could get started !
