Well all the Xmas presents and stocking fillers are done for this year now (except the last 3 quilts I am making but those are well on the way and should be finished in time) and all wrapped up and in bags etc.

Had £5 Payapl payment on Friday from Live Cashback and used it to buy some Horrid Henry books for my middle Grandson. Think I will put them by for his birthday as its only in March. Might look for the Horrid Henry annual to go with them when they come down in price if I can still find one.

Dad had his bone scan on Friday, they didnt say anything, just that he will hear from the hospital in 7 to 9 days for another appointment. He was feeling a bit more cheerful on Friday while we were out, more like his normal self but I have spoken to him this morning and he is very tired. He isnt sleeping well as he gets really cold then too hot etc. We have tried everything like changing the heater he has in his room, getting him to actually change rooms to one with central heating, changing his duvet, adding blankets etc etc etc but nothing seems to work. Back over there again on Wednesday to take him shopping with my Sil as I dont drive.

Got home Friday afternoon after hospital to find letter from my own Dr asking me to ring for an appointment. Havent got any idea what its about. Asked recpetionist and all she would say its because of a letter we have had so none the wiser. Have to go tomorrow morning to find out what its all about.

OH is off today and tomorrow, might spend today tidying up and then having a sit and catch up on some tele before he goes on nights again on Wednesday until Xmas Eve.

Tomorrow I am going to my ExMil's to put up her Xmas tree for her unless something else crops up. Then in the afternoon we have to go to see my daughters teacher for her parents review as I missed it on Friday due to hospital.

This will keep me busy all week, will be doing my sewing in between when I get an odd half hour or so.

Nickybo - Glad that your son is feeling a bit better!! Oooooo not nice of Currys, and as for the people with the car next to yours....grrrrrrr. I'm with mum2one regarding paperwork/email from Currys (did they not send anything to confirm the delivery?) and CCTV from the car park!! Hope you're feeling a bit more Christmassy now!

Regarding new appliances, can I recommend Appliances Online? bit late for Nickybo, but for anyone else...we've bought a dishwasher, cooker and washer/tumble this year from them and can't praise them enough - not only are their prices EXCELLENT but their delivery is fab (you get free weekday delivery if you take a months Which subscription out for a £1!! Just remember to cancel it at the end of the month! With this offer, Saturday delivery is then only a fiver!) - they unpack it all for you and give you a 4 hour slot so you're not stuck in all day.

ragz - I don't mind the uncomfortableness, but my leg still isn't right since the car accident, and if I'm not walking on it or have my leg out straight, my knee and ankle/foot swell up a bit and THAT is annoying. Plus, I'm a control freak, and not knowing when baby is coming is REALLY getting to me!! lol Official due date with hospital is this coming Saturday...so I'm hoping they might help her out a bit early next week!! Just hope she doesnt' come on Christmas Eve, Chrstmas Day or Boxing day!!

rufusdog - I have my fingers crossed for your Dad!!

Well I have a horrible cough and the sniffles now, and can't take anything for it, so am trying to take it easy. But will have to brave the horrible weather in a bit to post Christmas cards and return the dodgy SD card I had from Argos Clearnace Bargains. Bah. Then back, do a bit of cooking for dinner, and then wrap more pressies. Getting there!!

fed08 For my pots of gold I used round muller yogurt pots and cheap gold spray. They look very effective.

Fab idea, thanks! Thanks for all the other ideas too- don't know why I had it in my head that the pot itself had to be gold, doesn't matter as long as the contents are gold (doh!)
Found the pots of gold thread too, loads of ideas on there, can't wait to get started but if I get the chocs too soon they'll be gone! :o

Hello all :jWell wouldn't you just know it.........there were yet more cards to make...........oh well, now they're all done (sigh of relief) and I've come to the conclusion now that what isn't done won't get done.........

Nicky - what a horrible time you've had. I hate it when it seems one thing after another goes against you -still, it has to get better doesn't it and thank goodness your little one was more seriously ill.

    cdsmiler - do take care

98 - I think it you put 'ditties and verses' in the search box of this board there's a thread with loads on.

Just when I thought I was done hacking away I started again last night............then again about 5 this morning -woke OH up ! And now I've got a horrible acid indigestion.................seems I can't win sometimes. Oh well, Gaviscon to the rescue (it better work !!)
OH has appt with GP tomorrow for more painkillers and wants to talk to him hoping he'll be able to explain the whole situation before he sees consultant on 16th. so he's got a clear idea in his head of whats going on.
Be glad when we've been to see him now.
I would be unstoppable if only I could get started !

  • Hello all.

I have my tree & decorations up (inside) and lights up (outsides).

Over the weekend my children and i made Calendar Coasters and Decorated Glass candle holders with glass paint for their Teachers and also their Nan's.

I have got to print some photos to put in frames for 3 hampers then they are finished.

Have also finished my pots of golds.

Have been getting some good bargain thanks to the Grabbit Board. Have got Pretty Crackers from Debenhams. Treated myself to 2 new Mischa Barton Handbags for Christmas! Got 2 x £15 Itunes vouchers for £20 from Clinton Cards.

I want a black handbag and Purse for my mum as part of her Christmas Present. I do not really want to spend more than £15 for the 2 items and prefer to shop online. It hasnt got to be designer or anything like that as she isnt into designer things at all. Has anyone seen any suitable as i looked in Primark the other day and there only had black clutch bags.

    Hello everyone!

All i managed to last night was wrap up 4 presents - made own tags using old wrapping paper and making each letter red and green red and green if that makes sense. I then put the wrapped presents into a carry a bag then wrote on the front whose present and what was inside. There is no one smart enough to look about on a carry a bag in my house to sneak a peak.

I am making a healthy foods hamper for my mums friend who is a jehovas witness who does not celebrate christmas.

So far it has a seeded healthy flapjack from Asda's , some dried nuts and a small good for you bag of dried raisens and appricott pieces.

Want to wrap a couple more presents and a list of "to get" presents.

Took Pip to see Father Christmas today :santa2:
He loved it even though he isnt 1 quite yet. He was stroking Santas suit and playing with the fluffy booble on the end of his hat. Then we went on the little train ride that takes you round all the decortions, he really enjoyed it and so did I!!:j:j
