If you think posting a parcel is expensive, you could try my approach - I look at it by asking myself 'If I took this fiver down to the petrol station, how far would it get me?' - or perhaps 'How far would I get if I bought a single train ticket?' - I bet you the answer's never going to be as far as your parcel gets taken, and it's delivered to their door, and you don't have to spend the time taking it there yourself. I think we underrate our postal services!

I know its cheaper than train (dont really consider couriers much when thinking about postal services- they always give me a headache) but I would still rather find the cheapest option to doing it

Would love to make some pots of gold- great idea to make them for new year's!;)

 Any ideas where I could get some gold pots? I've seen the Ikea ones but it's a bit far for me to go just for these (as if I'd be leaving with only these!)

Suppose I could make Bags of gold, but doesn't really have the same ring to it lol! :D

As we're hosting New Years eve meal, I just used 5 glass tumblers from the kitchen that we rarely use (in fact, used them for chocolate mousse last year! lol), seeing as the scratch card will be scratched and the chocolates probably eaten by the end of the night anyway!! lol

Wrapping didn't go too well today. I love it normally, but normally I sit ont he floor with everything spread out around me. Sitting on the floor is NOT comfortable at the moment. So been struggling on a little table and not enjoying it. Plus feeling bit pants generally so given up for now.

    Oh well, new day tomorrow!

Then they are ready for delivery!

Everything else is nearly ready too present wise, just the cards left to write now and one left to make

    Xmas Saver!
Had a really good day at the Frost Fayre, we took dds friend with us, she was brillaint, I literally didn't know we'd got them with us.
    For 2, 7yr old girls - v good going.

had a few good samples of alcohol, and got a couple of knick nacks, (hunt the cheapies out), dd wanted a mini blanket box, hand painted with a Springer Spaniel, was £300.........she has good taste!!.

Very exicted when got back, got my 1st xmas calender back from Vista Print, (the calender was free, paid £3.45 for p+p, gone for cheapest postage meant to be 21 days - came within 7).

I've put pics of dd and added comments, one pic shes dancing, on a twist so it looks like shes looking at her bum - so commented

"does my bum look good in this"

Another of her sat in the boot of the car - "a girl has to check out the luggage space you know",
but the favourite, pic of her + Bailey when he was a pup, - "I asked for a Bailey's and I got a Bailey instead".

I absolutelty love making up the captions to go with the photos. xx

Sounds like everyone is having fun doing last bits of prep.

Took DS1 to his drama classes yesterday morning then me and my mum walked round Tescos (which was sooooooo busy), got a few bits for DS1 Harry Potter movie party next weekend (Very MSE getting the film free from Sky Box office as part of the HD Party also £10 voucher for M&S for the food  but think that will be going towards gifts and will do Hot dogs for the kids, then get them a big bag of sweets each, popcorn in bowls and a drink each just like you would at the cinema)

We Also called in Costa Coffee for a Creme Brulee Coffee which was very nice.

I managed to get DS2 to make his Pressies for Beavers, 13 biscuits in a jar mixes  had flour and sugar all over the kitchen, it looked like it had been snowing, apart from the bits the dog tried licking up til i kicked her out lol:rotfl:, just need to make lables for them and put the cookie cutters on each one, another MSE pressie as the Jars were free (a friend saves em for me) flour and sugar was £2.50, smarties £2 and cutters £1 for 2 pks, so £5.50 for 13 gifts :T

Welcome to all the newbies, and hugs to all who need themxxx

    Hello all :j
Spent the morning doing the christmas cards I'd forgotten - running out of christmas card making stuff now........ so hope I haven't forgotten anyone else....if I have then they'll have to have a New Year one.
I really want to thin out some of the odds and ends I've got so I can re-organise my crafty type stuff come new year. Intend to go to scrapbooking course at local card shop so I can turn out a half way decent one or maybe one for each of my sons for next christmas..........we'll see.
OH is having a lie down.............having a bit more pain lately...........just when I'd told the consultant he'd been a lot better as far as the pain went...........is that typical man ? Bet it is.................lol

    mum2one - love your captions...................lol :rotfl:

Mary – fantastic news about OH must be a big relief to you both

Fed08 – I am like you (although been here for a while just not had the time to do anything) and am determined to be organised next year.
