Yay! My trees (yes I did say trees as in plural as in more than 1!! :rotfl::rotfl:) are up. Got a purple and silver 1 in entrance hall, green and silver 1 on landing by Pips room and big red and gold 1 in Living room. All have lights on and look really pretty. I am set now for over a month of "NO!" to Pip as he trys to grab the babubles! :rotfl:
Going to try and write my cards and package posting parcels tonight ready to post Tuesday. Going to the massive shopping centre nearby tomorrow for final push on the presents. Only really a couple to buy for now, main problem is 17 year old boy cousin. I was going to get him a cheapy Xbox game but his Xbox broke last week and he cant afford to get it repaired yet so bang went that idea!!

Oh dear, I think I'm in need of some Christmas spirit if anyone has any to spare, I have just had the worst weekend ever
It began on Friday night when I had to take my 2 year old son to A+E at 11.30pm. He had a scorching temperature of 40 degrees (the highest the thermometer went up to) yet was shaking and shivering and also screaming when I touched his arms or legs. I was imagining all sorts of horrendous things wrong with him but by the time we got to A+E he had perked up a bit (being out in the cold helped I think!). He walked around the waiting room singing jingle bells to the drunks! He was eventually diagnosed with tonsillitus and an ear infection and we got hone at 4.30 am
Saturday morning I had planned on a final big shopping trip but that went out the window as we were all so exhausted. It's okay, I thought, I have my new oven arriving so everything will be okay once I can do some baking. The oven, booked from Currys, was due between 1-6 on Saturday. I was so excited as I've never had a new oven before. I had a huge list of things I wanted to bake and was really looking forward to it. Long story short, it didn't turn up. Phoned Currys who say it was booked for Tuesday! I work full time so am never home on a Tuesday, so I KNOW I didn't book it for then. I am 100% certain I booked the delivery slot for Saturday between 1-6 but they insist (lie!) that it was booked for Tuesday. Big Liars!!! I feel a big letter of complaint coming on.
That brings us to today. We had a lovely big shopping trip planned and I did manage to get a lot of nice things, however some of the things I really wanted were out of stock so that annoyed me. Not the end of the world though. But then we get back to the car and some idiot had parked ridiculously close to us. As dh was putting our son into his car seat our car door rested against their door. It didn't knock it, hit out, bang it or anything like that, it barely touched it. Yet suddenly they appeared from out of who-knows-where going on about this dent and scratch that our door had caused! The car was absolutely full of dents and scratches and there is no way we had done any of them but they were so insistant and wrote down our reg plate so dh had to give them our address. I'm fuming about that, I feel like it was a right set up.
Anyway, we at least managed to get the tree up and it looks lovely, now I just need to get my Christmas spirit back again :rolleyes:Making money for Christmas 2012!0 -
Wrapping didn't go too well today. I love it normally, but normally I sit ont he floor with everything spread out around me. Sitting on the floor is NOT comfortable at the moment. So been struggling on a little table and not enjoying it. Plus feeling bit pants generally so given up for now.
Oh well, new day tomorrow!

Nicky-Bo, I'm so sorry ds was poorly, bust so glad (in the nicest of ways), thats its toncillious (excuse spelling!!) and ear infection, I always feel worse when its children we can have a good maon about it, they can't.
As for Currys......I know its a long shot but have you got any paperwork showing delievery?
Wouldn't worry to much about the parking, they most properely kicked off in the hope that you bunged then £50 to shut them up, if they do start just say your ring the shopping centre for the CCTV....
Hope this week goes better xxxx rip dad... we had our ups and downs but we’re always be family xx0 -
JUNIOR-J - You've done brilliantly. I'm coming on your shopping list.
Been very organised today, wrapped 26 presents for the "santa visit" for dds class, finished all the xmas cards, but incase of emergency, have left a box on the stairs, readily signed.

ThanksI hate it when my son is ill, I wish he could just say 'My throat hurts, give me some Calpol please!'. He is starting to be able to tell me more - yesterday he told me he had a headache as he climbed on to my lap, rubbed his head and said 'My head, my head' over and over.
Currys - I ordered over the phone so the only paperwork I have is what I wrote down. I'll still be making a complaint though, emphasising the fact that I wouldn't book a delivery for a time I am NEVER at home.
Idiots in car park - I didn't think of CCTV! It was a big shopping centre car park so they're bound to have it, so if we do hear from them I could just suggest that and hopefully that would scare them off. Thank you, that's cheered me up a bit
I found a bit of my Christmas spirit last night. I wrote cards as I watched 'Christmas in Wonderland' on the new Christmas movie channel. It's Christmas dinner day at school on Friday and that's always lovely.Making money for Christmas 2012!0 -
