rufus sorry to hear about your dad. hope all goes well with the scan. can his tablets be changed if they are making him feel unwell? it is a worry when you are not nearby.

foxy hope you feel better soon.

I ordered a few things from amazon last night. I officially hate ordering from there:mad: most of what I had was covered by VO and lightspeed vouchers. I put it all in my basket, went to checkout and it came up with "you have made a change to your order click on place you order" so I did and the next thing was you will receive a confirmation e mail:eek: I hadn't even put in my vouchers:eek: so I went back in to amend it got halfway through and the computer crashed. eventually I put my voucher codes in. then this morning I rechecked and noticed something had gone through twice:mad: so I had to amend it again which meant cancelling part of the order and reordering! I am not convinced I have got the right amount back in gift vouchers but at least it's not cash. will wait and see what arrives:D soooooooo stressful!

  • Morning all,

1 more day to go and the advent calendars are out and our christmas elf Otis comes to stay!!!! I have got to finish his sleigh i made him to arrive in. I made it out of a box just got to decorate with some tinsel and glitter etc! I have a nice crafty activity planned everyday from tomorrow to do with my children when they get back from school.

Our Decs and Tree are going up next weekend.

I spent this weekend decorating the kitchen and its looking quite good :D

I still have few bits to finish (pots of gold, 2 hampers).

I also want to pop to Robert Dyas and see if i can buy any extras to go with the Royal Doulton set i have brought! By the way if you havent seen it have a peek. It is great value for money. I got a set for 8 people for £40 ;)

Does anyone know where i can get a table cloth and place mats and matching napkins for Christmas? Would prefer in a gold colour maybe with some deep red in? I dont want to spend more then £10 on it tho :o as it will only be thrwon away after 1 use.

Foxy ~ Hope you feel better soon. Keep warm, lots of fluids and lots of rest.

Thank you for all your kind thoughts, will try the lemon mix, sounds disgusting but I can barely swallow so am willing to try (almost) anything!

I have just been browsing on ebay and have just added the following to the grabbits board - how's this for being organised for next year:

    Morning all,

Been a bit absent the last few days - came down with that awful coldy/sore throat virus that is going round and have been feeling terribly sorry for myself. I'm currently doing a very good impression of Rudolph with my bright red nose.

mary-op, I'm keeping everything crossed that the news tomorrow is that everything is benign and can be removed nice and safely.

rufusdog, I'm keeping my fingers crossed for your dad as well.

We lost my dad to leukaemia 5 years ago, so I really do understand what you're going through. All that waiting for results etc is so hard.

On the Christmas front, I'm about two thirds of the way through my pressie wrapping and my OH got all the christmas decorations down from the loft for me yesterday. Might start putting them up tonight as have my little nephew coming up this weekend. I'm only putting them up this early for his benefit, you understand:rotfl:.

Mum2One, you have done a wonderful job of keeping us all going this year. Where would be without you.

Sending everyone lots of Christmassy thoughts and best wishes. Not long to go now!!

Very impressed with Amazon (I may be the only one!), I put an order in yesterday afternoon and this morning got an email saying it's been dispatched (using super saver delivery) so pleased with that. :T

Picked up Miracle On 34th St on DVD in charity shop this morning for £2. Kids are a bit young for it but I'm not lol

Had a hunt for MIL's missing pressie, still can't find it so been looking at other stuff to get her instead

Also cannot find box of xmas decs and the kids stockings  will have to send OH into the depths of the garage to search for them...

Currently shopping online for xmassy window stickers and debating when to bring out the Elf! Who still needs a name...

Hello all and many thanks for your good wishes.
I've been making christmas decorations -well about finished now apart from finishing them off but don't feel very festive at the minute.
Dreading tomorrow...........shall hate the phone ringing but I know we have to be told whats what then we can hopefully face up to it.
Mustn't get too despondant and keep thinking positive..........not easy but I'm doing my best.

rufus...............so sorry about your Dad. Do hope there's some improvement soon.

jamtart - some people have no taste in christmas gifts..............lol:rotfl:
I would be unstoppable if only I could get started !
