Robert Dyas have a deal at the moment on Royal Doulton 'Platinum' crockery.

A 1 person place setting consists of dinner plate, side plate, bowl, cup and saucer and is selling for £6.99 or you can get 2 sets for £10. I've just got 8 place settings for Christmas for £40 (which works out at £1 a piece) which I think is a good price for a top quality set. On the reverse, the items state they are microwave and dishwasher safe.

Edited post to add that this offer is both in store and online and there are a few other matching pieces to go with it (serving plate etc).

Sets have been restocked but are still flying off the shelves so better order sooner rather than later. Standard delivery starts at £5.25. MoneySavers have spotted this in store too. Thanks to BellyDuJour for the fab spot!

  • I just couldn't stretch to £98 and for Christmas day I needed 7 place settings! I must say I went to a couple of department stores this evening before buying and they were asking £4-6 just for a plain white cup and saucer! That helped me put the price of the Royal Doulton set into perspective. I can't wait to lay my Christmas table now! I've just got to worry about the food being edible, it's the first time I'm hosting Christmas dinner for the family :o:rudolf:

  • There's no mention of this pattern on the royal doulton website - can anyone think of a reason why it's not on the official website?
  • Don't forget Quidco 7%. :)

  • Thanks OP have brought 8 settings plus 2 of the matching oval platters too at £4.99 each to go with it.

Also went thru TopCashBack for another 7% off.

I think it could be down to being an old pattern. Next to the name 'Royal Doulton' it says 2004, but I don't know if that's for the pattern or the name trademark?

  • Sorry, how do you know they are microwave and dishwasher safe please?
I can't find it on the site?
Or have you actually already got them?
If so, is the pattern black or silver please?
Apologies for all the questions. :)
