Thanks so much for posting this bargain, just brought 8 sets from my local shop. I was after a really nice dinner set. I think I've tracked down the patten number and name for those who might what to add to the collection its Royal Doulton Dryden H5279. There looks like there are a few extra bits you can add, gravy boat, cream jug and teapot. None of them cheap but I think i might try and invest in the extra bits if I can.
What a bargin, thanks again!!0 -
brilliant just ordered the 6 place setting. Just hope they are not seconds!!0

thankyou OP I just ordered two sets for my grandparents, I dont get to see them very much and they live in a retirement apartment and are having christmas by themselves, hopefully they will enjoy their dinner on these.0

Hubby managed to get another two sets on his way home from work, so we have 10 now, this should see us for a fair few years of 'special' use and will allow for any breakages due to my clumsiness
Belly by name, JELLYBELLY by nature!

bought the last 4 sets from local robert dyas
assistant said they werent seconds
rushed home to unpack and wash and put in my cupboard! they are lovely. not heavy either.
i thought i wouldnt have much use for the 'small cups' but they actually hold as much liquid as my regular mugs.:j
i'm not going to call them 'the dishes' - it's going to be 'the royal doulton' from now on
(never ever thought plates and stuff would make me feel happy!)0 -
Ooooh ...... I have just put 10 settings and 2 platters in my basket - I really don't need them but that's not really the point is it? We're moving next year so I am going to stash them away until then.
Thanks OP - terriffic find! :j0 -
