    Xmas Saver!
jamtart - you get worse, so funny the 1st comment about the mugs........ esp as 4 of my gifts are mugs with varying sachets in them! xx

Had another £15 to add to my total, goodwill gesture from the company that boobed up a direct debit, by taking double the money then refunding the difference to another bank account!!, x
xx rip dad... we had our ups and downs but we’re always be family xx

Got a few little bits to finish off today while the kids are in school, like putting my snow trim in frontroom up and wrapping a few more empty boxes for under the tree. Then I will have to have a sort out in our bedroom as it looks like WW3 has broke out after getting all the decs out yesterday.

We put our decorations up yesterday as well. Would feel a lot more like Christmas if I wasnt so worried about my Dad. He has to have his bone scan on Friday, then we will have to wait to hear the results. He isnt doing so well at the moment, the tablets they have given him are making him feel unwell. Not only that but his gas fire in the room where he has his computer went wrong and he had a new one put it but the person who fitted it has left it really wobbly as its not fixed to the fire place. Not only that but when you turn it on you cant see the flames. Dad is quite deaf and cant hear the gas hissing and is having trouble knowing if the fire is on or not. he is frightened that he has turned on the gas and its not alight so he has decided not to use it at all. I just wish I lived a bit nearer so I could go round and help him out but hes too far away and I dont drive.

I was hoping to have a really Christmassy weekend, wrapping presents card writing etc, however I came home from work on Saturday with aches in my legs and back and could hardly stand up - everyone OH has spoken to has said I was like a little old lady! I also had a headache sore throat and a temperature of 39.4! The good old nurofen did the trick with the temperature, but we had to call NHS Direct who advised that it could be swine flu! I think I have overdone the nurofen a bit, as not aching anymore, just really sore throat swollen glands and earache. Sitting under my blanket in the peace and quiet today and catching up on everyone's posts.
Think I may write some cards later if I still feel ok, but may need a little sleep first!
The tree is coming out at the weekend, OH needed a little convincing, but he is impressed with how organised and thrifty we have been just recently so that December should be a fairly "cheap" month. He said if it wasn't for me being so organised and buying early we wouldn't actually be able to afford Christmas now! How's that for a compliment

Hi everyone - its my first time of posting on this thread but have been lurking for ages! Have put tree and decorations up yesterday. bought (and wrapped) 2/3 of xmas pressies - just waiting for others to arrive. Christmas cards all written - just about to plan meals for xmas week. Just wanted to say foxy219 (and anyone else suffering with sore throats) - only thing I found that helped my sore throat is an old family recipe; mix salt and lemon juice to a paste add hot water and then cold water to an acceptable heat (must be at least warm to work) then gargle with mix - tastes horrible and feels like its burning - but really does the trick x
