My Dad (51) went in to New Look today and chose an outfit for my Mum for her birthday on Tuesday! How sweet!
I'd asked him what he was getting her (expecting to have to help lol) and he proudly showed the bag in his hand and said he'd just been shopping! (Admittedly the oufit is hideous and she prob won't wear it but not the point) I wish my DH was able to go into clothes shops and buy me stuff, not that I'd like what he comes out with but it's the thought that counts, I have to buy my own presents!
Maybe after 17 years of marriage like my parents...June Grocery Challenge £493.33/£500 July £/£500

Hello all and thankyou for your kind thoughts.
3 cheeky princesses - you're not wacky at all..........we all believe in something and bless you for asking your guardian angel's help for us:A
fedupandskint................I sympathise with you......been suffering with blocked nose, hacking cough etc. for nearly a week now. Went off to gp today just to check the cough hadn't gone to my chest.......apparently not but he's given me a prescription to hang on to in case it gets any worse. Waiting room full of people hacking away and the young girl who hoovers for me is just the same..............so its lemon and honey, cough mixture, cough sweets, headache pills, vick vapour rub...........surely that lots got to beat it
Not done much today.......what with young girl coming to hoover and mop floor then off to GP. Did try and do some more 'primitive' hearts but one lot of fabric frayed everywhere...........found an old kitchen curtain that might do but only got half way with it.................. Just not my day for crafting it seems.....................lolI would be unstoppable if only I could get started !

I really really really want to get myself/get OH to buy me a xmas present (about £20 budget) but i just cannot think of what I want! It's driving me mad! I have so far bought myself the latest Terry Pratchett book and a pair of gloves. I'd like something else but I can't think of anything I want. Clothes are out of the question as I'm not due until the end of January and it'll be a few months (hem hem) before I'm back to a size 10/12 so that would just depress me. I have a hard time buying shoes as I'm a large foot size 8 and cannot be bothered with the stress of shoe shops when I can barely reach my feet!
I don't wear perfume. I am not into handags, purses...
I don't collect anything.
In fact, I am awful, how does anyone ever buy me anything?!

Right I've reserved my secret santa gift from argos to collect tomorrow after the new tyre is put on.
Had to resort to Day and Night Nurse for this bloomin cough and cold - at least they work and I finally got some uninterupted sleep and I woke myself up coughing early but didn't mind as at least I got to sleep way before 2am!
Christmassy things for tomorrow - feed christmas cake, pick up argos gift and get scratch cards for pots of gold. If feel up to it visit Christmas Fayre up the road. Then come back for an ebay collection in the afternoon.
Cream crackered after rushing around all day on my day off and really felt ill this afternoon as a result so will take it easy tomorrow if feel as badfinal unsecured debt to repay currently £8333Proud to be Dealing With my DebtDFW Nerd 1154 Long Haul 1550 -

:rotfl: Are you doing secret Santa? If so i think you just really worried whoever is choosing for you :rotfl:
How about some nice toiletries. Ones for long relaxation in the bath (make the most of it before baby comes!).
Also i had a relaxation CD i put onto my IPod which i listened to in the bath when i was pregnant. It helps you to relax and bond with baby whilst in your tummy but also shows you deep breathing techniques for when your in labour. I loved mine as i found it so relaxing when i had a long bath and the deep breathing exercises were a god send during labour. The cd was pricey about £12 but i think i got mine free in a pregnancy mag but i would of brought it. I sadly passed my CD onto a pregnant friend a while ago otherwise would happily send you itIt was the Natal Hypnotherapy range and they do a cd if your planning a home birth or one for hospital etc etc but i had this one ideal for relaxtion and for labour too so all in one:

Thanks for the ideas, but I have a mountain load of lovely smellies left over from when I did BodyShopAtHome last year, it takes me ages to get through them, not a bath person really.
Don't have an ipod/mp3 player, we do have a stereo in the LR but not sure OH would appreciate relaxion cds lol
See what I mean!
I have thought of a few things since my last post, slippers as I wore out my last ones (have to be specific type from next due to my stupidly big feet) and notebooks as I love writing lists.June Grocery Challenge £493.33/£500 July £/£500

Hiw about £20 in coins, wrapped up beside a bar of chocolate, and then it would be £1,710 to go? If he could go over the £20, he could make it £30, and then it would be a tidy £1,700 to go.
I know it would be the thing I'd want - and I'm just like you when it comes to suggesting presents people can get for me. My instinctive reply is 'Nothing -don't waste money' When we were hard up it was because I was trying very hard to stay debt-free, and hated anything that compromised that (ah me, the rows we had - the good old days). Nowadays, we're well enough off that if I want anything, I can probably afford it - and if I can't afford it, sure as heck no-one else among the nearest and dearest is going to be able to afford it either!Reason for edit? Oh good luck Sarah. My second 'new' laptop has gone back to Argos Clearance Bargains, and me thinking it must be an ACER related issue, braved buying an SD card from the same seller. Amazing how a 1gig SD card only holds 185mb!!! ARGGHGHHHHHHH!!!! I've tried reformatting and everything!! All I want is about 250mb to stick photos in a digital photo frame for my Nan! What a blinking waste of time. Again. Won't shop from them again in a hurry!!

Oh I know, I was ranting about Dell all morning yesterday hun, I lappy kept freezing on me so called their help line, and the bloke tried to talk me through fixing it and half way through it still wouldn't do anything so he said we will do a factory reset on the lappy that will solve all the problems (ok he know best) so I did what he said and lost everything on the pc, windows and everything, nothing loading up just blank screen:mad: so he arranged for it to go back to be fixed.
On monday I got a call from dell (even more to tjhis annoying bit but wont bore everyone, so give you the short version) saying I would have to pay for the repair (never told me how much mind) as the laptop had been dropped as it has a scrap on the side (it scraped along the pavement in OH bag when he went away about 6 months ago) So I said no that has nowt to do with it, your gy wiped hard drive etc etc they argued the whatsits about it, and in the end after a few phone calls they left a message for me saying as a goodwill gesture they would repair the laptop (still have the message) this time and return laptop fixed, well when it come back PC world who fix em for dell wrote on advice slip, RETURNED WITHOUT REPAIR ON ADIVE FROM DELL
I am so annoyed with them and there customer service is appaling really for such a large company very dissapointed with them really.
Anyway my cousion has fortunately managed to reloads vista and that back on for me so the Lappy is working :j and he has offered to fix it again if anything goes wrong again:D
Hope you get your laptop sorted, and your memory card, have you tried loading it on the PC they sometimes have a load of files already installed that you may be able to delete???:D:D:D:D
Where's the Coffee?? Show me the Coffee NOW!!0
