well, am going to try and get my dads done today- am doing him a sort of combined photo album scrapbook with a family tree element (didnt explain it well- basically a family tree done in a scrapbook with photos etc)
Sounds like a good idea, not sure if it will go to plan though

Can I just say a massive thank you to everyone on this thread, both new and old posters, without you all this thread would of fell flat on its face.

We're a great bunch of ladies, and very organised by Christmas, and I'm very honoured to be part of it all.

Love setting the challenges, makes me more organised, and great to find others that like me, love Christmas, need to be organised for a 1001 reasons, and all love a bargain or 2.

I keep asking Santa for tall, dark, handsome male, but guess he's busy with all the little'uns.....!!! Maybe one day.......xx

Aww what a lovely message mum2one! You have warmed my little heart this morning :A

Ah, mum2one, what a star you are :)

Thank you for the challenges through the year - I've been reading even when not posting and I'm so impressed by your organisation and ingenuity.

The small monster is sleeping and I'm about to organise my Organised Advent Calendar (Advent To Do list). Bacon bagel has been made and ingested, dishes can wait ... there's a list to be made!

  • Hi all. Does anyone know how to make a lovely Christmas scent for the Christmas period? I've been looking for good Santa crafts for my son who has to make one for the school competition, and came across this on my virtual travels:

    3 Cinnamon Sticks -- 4"
    2 Bay Leaves
    1/4 c Whole Cloves
    1/2 Lemon -- Cut In 2 Pieces
    1/2 Orange -- Cut In 2 Pieces
    1 qt Water

Combine all ingredients in a kettle or saucepan. Bring to a boil. Reduce heat and simmer for as long as desired.

Check water level frequently and add more as needed. Mixture may be stored in refrigerator and re-used

Sounds lovely, but can't really see myself putting that on to simmer every time I want a nice smell, and thought there must be a better way - but I can't think of it! Sorry I know it's not really present- or organisation-related, but I thought 'if anyone will know, the thrifty gifty girls will know':T

I use the cloves pushed into an orange with cinnamon sticks tied to the top or on the bottom with the orange on top - my mum used to do it with us when we were little and i have stuck with it.

The other thing you could do with the above recipe is pop it on the dish and sit it on top of a radiator and the heat from the radiator will release the scent in the same way simmer would (I think)

    Morning all!!

mum2one - without your challenges and continued support, I'm sure many ladies would have fallen off the Christmas wagon!! lol

Well first day of maternity leave!! I THINK the last of OH's ordered pressies have just arrived (need to check my list in a bit) plus some lovely gold star cellophane for pots of gold for table gifts for new years eve. Just doing all me internet stuff this morning while watching This Morning, then will be concentrating on stitching cards this afternoon with a film on! Currently doing a 'bon voyage' card for my friend who'll be travelling next year, then I'll be back on the Christmas ones!

Hope everyone is doing well with their Christmas preparations. Also hope everyone's OHs, family, or indeed themselves are feeling better and coping ok. Big cuddles from a flumpy pregnant lady to you all!

Feeling Christmassy with all these christmas adverts going on, so MERRY CHRISTMAS EVERYONE! A month today is boxing day!!! Yikes. lol
