Ordered Liverpool FC calendar and Liverpool FC advent calendar for my son in sussex the other day..........thought I'd allow plenty of time what with postage so sent them straight to his address..........he got them this morning:T
He thinks I've lost the plot being so early..........least he did till I explained about postage plus wanted to get them ordered before OH's hospital appt.

Haven't posted other parcels yet but I'll get them off this week I think then at least they're out of the way.
Oldest son will have to collect his...........can't see us making the journey to his for the 'santa' drop off. Least everything is bagged or boxed up.

Just need to do flannel reindeer, and maybe two more cobweb chasers with the cheap gardening gloves I got...........could do with one for myself..........pressie for me !!:j
I would be unstoppable if only I could get started !

http://www.mesotheliomacenter.org/mesothelioma-news/2007/12/21/planet-toys-voluntarily-issues-a-stop-sale-on-csi-fingerprint-examination-kit/ probably something to do with this news article, monkey was climbing out of buggy and didnt get chance to read the notice just saw it was recalled

Thanks hun, i did a quick google search too, fortunately being the horrible mother that I am lol ;) I wouldn't let my 6yo DS have the fingerprint powder.(didn't fancy having it all over my nice cream walls) But thank you so much for telling me. I am so glad I didn't let him have it now.

    Hi all :)
Well I managed to declutter some of the upstairs friday - still abit left to do in my room - then on to the downstairs.
Have been given another work deadline for the 21st December (I'm a freelance writer) which will keep me very very busy - boooooooooooo (but also yey).
Bought my ds the pokemon DS game sainsburies £8 - so the boys are done - determined no to buy any more for them now apart from 'little bits'.
    The boys (7 and 5) have -
A second hand wii to share
    2 lego sets each
    2 DS games each
    2 dvd's each
    1 wii game each
    1 book each
    pj's each
Lego from the daily mirror as stocking fillers
    Baby - 8mths has
    Leapfrog ball
    leapfrog maracas
    leapfrog drum
    lamaze stacking rings
    lamaze stacking bugs
a cuddly reindeer (very cute and only £8 from coop - they also have polar bears and penguins - all very cute - it was difficult to decide what to get and tempting to buy all three:))

So just a few more stocking fillers - and some bits and bobs for their xmas eve hampers to get.
Not making the mistake I made last year though and buying lots of little things for stockings that just got lost or disgarded immediately :(
Was thinking perhaps a tube of sweets to add to the lego, some novelty socks? Any other ideas. I also want to get them some new colouring pens and some boxer shorts but they wont fit in a stocking I dont think.

For the xmas eve hampers I was thinking perhaps -
    some xmassy crafts?
    drinking choc sets
some xmassy snacks to eat with movie
xmassy movies - thinking home alone and 'merry madagascar'
    merry madagascar toy for baby
    pj's/sleepsuit for baby
    xmassy warm socks
    a magic santa key

    any other ideas???

so the plan for today- declutter downstairs :(

Hi all...............well, I've de-cluttered some files and put stuff in the relevant folders...........not a big job but it needed doing, then I made a few birthday cards (bit basic) that were due for November...........nearly forgot them !!
Had every intention of doing another little 'soft tree' as well but card making took a little bit longer than I thought, plus I made a sort of card-!!!-notelet to send to my friend whos partner's very ill -hope it cheers her up.
Still feel I've got loads to do but haven't really..............just the reindeer, couple of cobweb chasers...............then its decorations for the dresser !
Must sort out some little plant pots for sitting pine cones in as they'll need painting. Was going outside this morning and it pelted down with rain and hailstones so that ideas shelved till a dry day.
I would be unstoppable if only I could get started !

  • Hello all,

I'm new to the thread (and just about caught up on 159 pages!) but have been doing a bit of Christmas preparation since the summer holidays. Reading through everyone's posts, I see that I'm way, way behind eek! I'm quite busy through November and the beginning of December so really need to get my finger out.

I've got both children at home with me today so not much work will get done. Think I'll work on my Christmas Planner and make sure that's up-to-date.

I am finally starting to feel Christmassy well a little bit at least. Haven't been able to do any shopping or anything as completely broke. I can't even afford to buy hubby a CD. Had a brain wave yesterday hubby had some vouchers from work and we have been saving them to go to a hotel after Christmas for a much needed break. But yesterday we spent these on presents. Having said that went to Matalan and managed to get a good bit for £30 minded childrens presents, good friend hers. Went food shopping to Mr T's and treated hubby and me to some chocolate with some money mum had given me to treat myself with. Got some Galaxy caramels that are individually wrapped in gold (so will be buying some of these for my pot of gold at Christmas). Then spent yesterday ALL yesterday watching Christmas movies on Movie 24 Channel and will be doing the same again every weekend in November. Just have to learn how not to cry when a sad bit happens when you know its going to work out okay - it's a Christmas movie lol.

So finally feeling a little bit better about the season after all those films. Sadly Ma and pa in law won't come for Christmas lunch as I no longer do the full Christmas dinner. We didn't do it last year as we lost my Dad and it didn't feel right as he enjoyed Christmas lunch so much - and we have something else so decided I was doing the same again this year.

    Morning all!

Thank you all for your kind thoughts! I'm amazed at how much my leg is improving each day. Brusies are now a wonderful array of colours, but otherwise not so bad - have managed to get to work today (we have an inspection this week! Fortunately I'm just support staff, but I'll be needed! lol) AND I can do stairs without taking baby steps! Yeay! :T lol Oh there's still pain, but it's much better than it was.

Ahh cdsmiler - hope you ok, must have been awful, hope you have your feet up and watching christmas films...I'm supposed to be resting but I've got the nesting bug I think!! just 4 days left but dd came early so could be any time now - I hope.

Oooo I'm hoping so much for the nesting bug when I stop work in 2 and a half weeks!! lol

Covered two boxes yesterday to use for hampers - gosh that was a faff! I'm sure there were probably easier ways of doing it than I did, but hey, they're done now! lol Nice to get the Christmas wrapping paper out though!! Yeay! lol I'm saving the rest for when I finish work and have lovely days to take my time!

Oh, and was disappointed this morning. I'd been 'dooyooing' with the aim of getting a £20 voucher that I could use to pay for a £20 voucher (confused yet? lol) from Amazon for my friend and her son as part of their Movie Night In hamper. Well, I got the dooyoo Amaxon voucher :T, went to Amazon to buy one (personalised with their names on etc), but you CAN'T use a voucher to buy a voucher!! BUM!! Oh well. Luckily there's a few more bits I have to buy on Amazon anyway, so I'll use it for those instead.

And another thing - I was going to get Sonic & Mario Winter Olympics Wii game for my hubby from Tesco Direct (have a £40 gift card to use, and there's a fab Tesco Direct deal with extra points or something if you spend £50 - it came with our clubcard vouchers a few days ago...sorry, bit vague, haven't got the details in front of me.... anyway, I digress...) BUT even though it's a current new game, Tesco Direct don't stock it!! Argh! I've sent them a little email saying that I'm very surprised, and are they intending to get this current, modern, popular game in stock any time soon?! We'll see what they say!

Mr A were doing selection boxes, 2 for £5 the other day. Most of them were the £3 packs, but they also had the Galaxy ones (good selection - normal size galaxy bar, smaller size, Ripple, Mistletow Kisses, Whole Nut, Minstreals) which are normally £4 on their own! Just thought I'd share!
