Mind you, I used to work in a factory, and one of the workers there once gave her husband (who she hated - hadn't heard of divorce, apparently) much, much worse in his sandwiches..._pale_

Thanks Mandragora, I'll remember the flies next time! (What did she put in his sarnies then?)

Honestly I don't mind taking care of the house, my DH works and I don't so I'm happy to take full responsibity for the kids, the housework, bill paying and shopping etc
Until he has the audacity to moan about it! I don't go into the gardens he works at and moan about leaves on the lawns and messy hedges!
He has finally started to learn about laundry, if it's in the laundry bin it MAY get washed, if it's on the bedroom floor there's no chance at all!
I make him coffee in the morning, breakfast and a packed lunch, but if he ever moans about the content/quality - there's hell to pay! I'm not a restaurant!

Went to Lidl today and picked up Christmas pudding and stollen. Also a packet of chocolate/sweets that look like giant Jazzies (chocolate covered with sprinkles) - my best friend's favourite so they are going in her stocking.

In tesco I did enough shopping to get a bottle of Baileys, but hadn't written a list so it took ages and I ended up wasting money really.

Picked up a few cute xmas decs and had a look at their trees, I actually think the Asda ones looked better
    - any one have any advice about fake trees? I've never bought one.

Well, managed to clear some space in comp. room (mostly by moving what was here up to the spare room:eek: as if thats not cluttered enough..........lol) Young girl was due to come and run Henry around but didn't turn up  So.........I had a go............talk about back breaking:eek: I'll not be doing that again in a hurry.........:rotfl:
OH's letter to confirm appt. came this morning - crikey -scarey stuff all details about this endoscopy thing plus letter says there are two 'shadows' on his lung - scared witless or what

Must keep potisive I tell myself............and not drone on and spoil any festive feelings for anybody else so I'll shut up about it now..................

My DH had a little dig about the state of our house the other day - so I squashed his sandwiches as punishment lol

pmsl ragz, I love this and will adopt this as my quiet revenge on OH when he pees me off!!! Love it!!!

Welcome to the thread lovely new person (so sorry have forgotten your username), I just joined it a few months ago and am not the best at posting but find it such good fun and a great resource.

Not doing much Christmassy atm except in my head, as we are having work done in the house so in utter chaos. It's all going well though and is also giving us the chance for a really good sort out. Should hopefully be finished by end next week so will be able to focus on Christmas.

Feeling quite good though in that most presents are planned (not got/made yet - am behind where I wanted to be, but still better than last year), and I just totted up what I'm owed from various survey sites etc and it's about £130 worth of vouchers which shoudl really help, as long as they get here in time. Am thinking I may have left it a bit late to cash in, BUT, it's a lesson for next year. Also, in the clear out, we found £120 cash that I was given for leaving my last job just before we moved house - must have got shoved in some box in the last days before the move and has only just emerged. So that's a great help and should at least cover the kids' main presents.

    Mary, good on you for staying positive, I know it is scary and the procedures might not be pleasant, but it's the best thing to get them done as soon as poss, know what you're dealing with. OH will be fine, I'm sure they'll look after him well in hospital, and with you around that will be great support. I think it's a great idea to get your foster daughter to go with you, I'm sure that will help with the waiting. THinking off you {{{hugs}}}

ETA don't worry about moaning/spoiling festive feelings - I can't speak for others but from what I've seen on this thread we would all want to support you and be there for you. Take care.

I've just got back from Mr A's where they have tons of Christmas stuff out and had to stay very strong and not buy the 2 for £7 tins of chocolates and they also have £1 for pringles and had to resist these too otherwise I would be eating them now!

I bought 2 lovely wreath to hang over the doors for £5 each and a hanger for £1 each. They had some more for £10-15 but the cheaper ones are quite neat and tidy and come in red and gold colour tones.

Popped them upstairs alongside the Smart Price 19p silver gift bags that I will put a DVD into for the Christmas Eve Hampers. Was going to buy special sized boxes but for 19p thought I'd give them a try (even if they don't fit they'll come in for something!)

All HM treats have been made for now and just a few more to make much closer to the time so I am just going through my shopping list to make sure what I need to get in to avoid the mad rush closer to Christmas

I have never been this organised and it feels nice to not be overwhelmed by the thought of shopping in the next few weeks!
Any idea how long the two for £7 offer is on till? We don't get paid until next Tues xx

Sorry rufus I don't know, I didn't notice any signs - it might say on their website eg order by date for home delivery to give you an idea

They had run out of Roses, had a ton of Quality St, Hero's and a massive tin of Mingles

Hi everybody, I was in my local tescos yesterday and they had loads of christmas films for £3 and £5. There were only 2 that I didnt already have, my christmas dvd collection is stupidly big but I love it!!!!

I also think that there is an offer on the tins of choccies in tesco but not sure what the price is, aslong as I get a box of celebrations I'll be happy.

Part of mil's pressie arrived today hoping the secong part will arrive tomorrow or on saturday.

I only have to buy for my dad now but I am getting in a dangerous position at the mo. When I go in the shop I am seeing things I can buy for people but I already have bought for them and have to stop myself. Anybody having the same problem?

Me and oh were planning on having a walk down to the local park to watch the fire works but it is hammering it down so gonna have a cosy night in infront of the telly instead with the choccy apples I bought.

Mary - I hope everything will be ok, I have everything crossed, I have had an endoscopy before when I was about 14 It was over within half an hour and I didnt even have a sore throat afterwards, which they warmed me might happen. Im going in to hospital on the last firday in november for a colonoscopy:( I hope they put me to sleep as I really dont want know whats going on when they do that.

Oooo after today it is officially the start of Christmas time for me!!!!!!!!!
