:santa2:Hi all - can I join in? My hubby has just had a go at me for the house being a mess :( so I really want to get organised for Christmas. I have an 8mth old baby and two other young sons and as well as part time work I constantly feel like my head is spinning with all the things I need to do - so if I can list them down here and cross off when done that would be great??
There may be some boring non xmassy things in the mix first unfortuantely - I really need to get things straight before the decorations come down in eeeeek - less than a months time!!!

First one the list is decluttering :(
I hate it but the house needs a major going through - we're thinking off moving so it needs to look good for pics and if we are staying then I need to make more space - the stuff everywhere is driving me slowely insane

    So this weeks priority-
    1) Decluttering -
    bathroom
    our bedroom
    kids bedroom
    babies bedroom
    hall
    stairs
    lounge
    kitchen
    garden

    2) Washing!! With this wet yet mild weather I just cant get things dry cos I cant peg out but dont want to have to have the heating on constantly. As such my washing mountain just gets bigger and bigger. May have to take some of it to the laundrette.

    :D

PS - I dont have time to read through the thread so could some kind person bring me up to date with where we are with challenges etc?? What should I have already done etc? Its only beg of Nov but I feel like I've come into this thread too late!

Have you visited the FlyLady thread on the Old Style board? They are great for motivation with housework.
Ignore your husband, you have enough to do by the sounds of it. My DH had a little dig about the state of our house the other day (I am 6 months pregnant and we have 2 and 3 year old boys who are beign rather difficult at the moment) - so I squashed his sandwiches as punishment lol

    Welcome to the thread :D

you missed a bit out, so I've edited for you...

Mind you, I used to work in a factory, and one of the workers there once gave her husband (who she hated - hadn't heard of divorce, apparently) much, much worse in his sandwiches..._pale_

just a quicky - looks like the Elle bags are down to half price and 342 INSTORE in Boots. They have been a third off and 342 all week making them £17.66 per bag if you buy three, now it is just £13.66 per bag. Seems like they made a massive boo-boo and from what the other threads are saying if you contact them they will give you a refund of the difference if you bought online this week. I'll let you know how I get on with that!

Like the squashed sanwiches trick - why do OHs and DHs think it is all our responsibilty to organise everything, clean the house and cook. Are we still in the 1940's?

Tell them to pick their sandwiches up dear!

does anyone know when halfcost put their new stuff on each week - is it a wednesday or a thursday?? got some things on there I want but thought i'd wait and see if there was anything I could add to order.

Got loads of bits and bits and pieces from home bargains yesterday so am almost there with the shopping, am really behind this year but better than having nothing in!

    Still got to :
    finish buying
    wrap everything
    make tags
    finish cards
make list of stuff to do through december

I am having a housework crisis too at the moment. Husband moaned this morning that his work trousers arent ironed. I thought strange as i had done all the washing and ironing. Then found 2 dirty pairs left on the bedroom floor! He doesnt see its his own fault and that he is big and old enugh at 36 years old to put his dirty clothes in the laundry bin!
My kids are driving me mad too. I have recently gone thru their bedrooms and de-cluttered, tidied and organised. Yesterday i spent a hour re-tidying DD room who is 6 yrs old then go up there at bed time and everywhere is trashed again! I think star chart incentives will have to go up. I dont mind tidying etc but hate picking up behind DH and children when its just laziness on their part! There RANT over now! lol

Today i am making Christmas Chutney and also will stick on the slow cooker to make a curry for after the Fireworks tonight.

Probably wont get any christmassy things done today (except the chutney). I am looking forward to fireworks but also cant wait for them to be over so i can really focus on Christmas and know that is the next big event iykwim!

Hope you all have a good day!
