    rufus - amazing quilt :T

3-cheeky-princesses - think I'll start posting my parcels off to son and his girlfriend over next two weeks........well this week maybe, just in case OH has to go to hospital. Least that'll be something less to worry about and there's no guarantee how long or often this strike action will be for as far as I can tell.

Found a use for the tin I had sitting doing nothing..........just the right size for a tall church like candle so I've covered it with paper, popped the candle in and stuck a bow on top.
Two more diaries covered -can't remember now who they were for............. Think I'll have to venture into the spare room and have a look..............

Still struggling to make birthday and christmas card for teenage grandson................
Oh well, it'll come to me eventually

I just wanted to remind everyone planning to post parcels this week to invest and send them tracked and signed for. My friend sent us a baby gift that's gone missing, and without tracking it's gone for good with no compensation :(

    Fabulous quilt :)

sugar-spun - thanks for that. I've used the tracking system before with no problem -trouble is it's so much more money. I've four to send -maybe more if OH isn't well enough to deliver the rest they'll be a load more.
Other sons girlfriends birthday parcel got to her ok with 1st class a couple of weeks back so I'll have a think.........

    Hi all,

Just been catching up on the thread and having taken down my halloween decorations, am desperately trying to resist the urge to put up my xmas tree! The house looks so boring.....

Anyway, I just wanted to stop in and say....fab quilt!!!!!

I went to asda today and all of the extra special non-alcoholic wines were on offer so I got some to put away for xmas, as they always seem to jump in price later!

I bought a 'snow' blanket from poundland for underneath my xmas tree and also bought some very pretty ribbon from The Works - 2 rolls for £1. Some for presents and some for wrapping up my napkins for the xmas table :D

Im also thinking about posting my parcels soon.....although I read on another thread that there are apparently no strikes in December - but then I dont want to take the risk, plus like the others say, its one less thing to do later!

    xx
:)Sometimes lurking, sometimes posting, but always flying:)

Why don't you ask for proof of posting when you send them off? That gives you cover up to around £35 I think, and doesn't cost a penny extra.

  • Wow, I can't believe I've only just found this thread! And there was me thinking I was being organised compiling my Christmas Gift list now!!! Have I got a thing or two to learn!!!

mandragora - I always get a 'proof of postage' but I seem to remember last year when I posted something off for someones birthday it was two days late -I panicked and rang royal mail but they wouldn't/couldn't do anything about it unless it was missing for a number of weeks.
Normally I've found 1st class post gets stuff there on time so might take a chance.

After long chat with young lad we care for he's now asking for anything 'art based' for christmas........sketch books, pencils, etc. so might do him a box of that sort of stuff. There's me thinking I'd finished..............he was going to have money and a box of odds and ends...............lol Not so now.........:rotfl:
