morrisons have their christmas chocs and sweets and biccies and stuff, just asda who won't bring anything out until after halloween apparently!!
My dd is having a day with the mil, and as I don't feel too well with a cold I am going back to bed for a bit...but I plan on wrapping some presents later and finding my christmas card list so I can amend it and get on with them.
Next week dd will be in school all day every day (no more of this half day stuff) so I have given myself a goal of finishing all my buying and wrapping by friday.
Love the boxes ideas, will get them done too...did the christmas morning box too last year, comes in very handy.
The house is looking great...not only am I doing the grand plan but I'm definitely nesting too, and I'm buying in stuff left right and center, once this baby arrives I don't think I'll need to leave the house until spring lol
feeling so organiZed :-)0 -
must add scissors to the christmas morning kit...or heavy duty industrial cutters for those annoying tied up presents with them plastic bits you can't even saw through!!!!!!!!!!!!!all part of the fun though isn't it?!?!
and to the medicine box...a bottle of nitty stuff...our school seems to have infestations around the winter and I hate the thought of discovering the darlings on christmas day and not being able to get any stuff cos the shops are shut!!!!!!!!!!!!0 -
Well, I can only say I wish we had an Asda near us - I'd shop there just to support their stance of not sticking out the Christmas stuff till November - I'm all for putting stuff aside as you go through the year, as I think it makes sense, but I really hate the shops prolonging the season the way they do. I don't need three months to go out and buy a tin of chocolates and a packet of biscuits. That's stuff I'm more than happy to leave till the last few weeks! Ironic, I know, as I've contributed to the thread for months now, but I hope you know what I mean, even if you don't agree!!Reason for edit? Can spell, can't type!0

Nit stuff? I'm sure the kids would love being done on Christmas day! LOL:rotfl::rotfl:
My kids are all teenagers now - and i can confirm there were no real nit problems once we hit secondary school.
We either used to smother them with conditioner and then comb through with a bug comb - this was part of our primary school hairwashing routine.... little bu****s didn't stand a chance! And the final rinsing water always had some tea tree oil in it!
Or we used an battery nit comb - this has the huge advantage of not having to have the kids hair wet...great in winter...esp with long hair!
Hope this helps!:jFlylady and proud of it:j0 -

These sound yum, great for any caramel fan....
Caramel filled chocolate cookies
INGREDIENTS:
1 cup butter, softened
1 cup white sugar
1 cup packed brown sugar
2 eggs
2 teaspoons vanilla extract
2 1/4 cups all-purpose flour
1 teaspoon baking soda
3/4 cup unsweetened cocoa powder
1 cup chopped walnuts
1 tablespoon white sugar
48 chocolate-covered caramel candies
DIRECTIONS:
Beat butter until creamy. Gradually beat in white sugar and brown sugar. Beat in eggs and vanilla. Combine flour, baking soda, and cocoa. Gradually add to butter mixture, beating well. Stir in 1/2 cup walnuts. Cover and chill at least 2 hours.
Preheat oven to 375 degrees F (190 degrees C).
Combine remaining 1/2 cup nuts with the 1 tablespoon sugar. Divide the dough into 4 parts. Work with one part at a time, leaving the remainder in the refrigerator until needed. Divide each part into 12 pieces. Quickly press each piece of dough around a chocolate covered caramel. Roll into a ball. Dip the tops into the sugar mixture. Place sugar side up, 2 inches apart on greased baking sheets.
Bake for 8 minutes in the preheated oven. Let cool for 3 to 4 minutes on the baking sheets before removing to wire racks to cool completely.

I had a good day shopping today and getting inspiration!
Went into Hawkins Bazaar and brought my children some stocking fillers. Brought loads for £8 :j Love it in that shop! They had little animals filled with bath gel / bubbles from £1.99 to 49p each! They arent massive but very cute and once the bubble used (prob enough for 3 baths) they can use as a toy in the bath :T
Brought a couple of boxes of choclates from Thorntons as they have a big Christmas selection for only £5 at the mo and dated until end of March 2010 so i have put them away for pressies (if i dont eat them before then!) :eek:Might be a good one to keep a eye out for as a "emergency" pressie for a unexpected visitor or something
