Afternoon everyone,
I had a £6 voucher from Royal Mail surveys yesterday to spend in Wilkinsons so bought a pot of white paint and started going over the paint work in our bedroom. Measured up the walls and think I will only need 4 rolls of wallpaper to re-paper the room so hoping I will have enough money next month to get some and do the room up before Xmas. I have the new curtains that I got off someone for nothing and bedding all matches the curtains in colour so wont cost any more than that to give it a make over.
Down stairs is still looking nice from when we did it all up for OH's party in August so feeling very orgainised this year.
I start my quilting course on Weds eve so very excited about that, cant wait to get strted on it.0 -

I don't need three months to go out and buy a tin of chocolates and a packet of biscuits. That's stuff I'm more than happy to leave till the last few weeks! Ironic, I know, as I've contributed to the thread for months now, but I hope you know what I mean, even if you don't agree!!
No, I'm woth you there. I LOVE seeing all the Christmas stuff out, but considering it's all novelty food based, waiting until the start of November is plenty of time!
I'm quite behind with Christmas stuff in some senses. Need to look through all the bits we've bought so far and allocate some books we've picked up from the Free Book offer on Bangzo.com. Plus I need to get my bum in gear with my cross stitch Christmas cards!!

Here we go, hopefully theirs method in my madness, as it may of sounded very odd, me saying make £10, but you won't be swopping addresses, posting parcels etc.
Here we are that lovely time of the month, (odd thought the only time of the month we look forward to!).
Santas Present Challenge.
Hopefully by now, all you lovely ladies, will of made your £10 for the challenge (have put some names on Post 1, if I had put any on in error/ or you want to be added just pm me and I will adjust accordingly.).
If anyone wants to join could you let me know by the 20th October, so we (dd has appointed herself, chief name picker), can get all the pairing done and can be released in time for Octobers Santas Challenge, so the swopping can be completed by Novembers challenge. Once I have final numbers, will pop a quick message to everyone taking part, via PM, be 3 quick questions (eg favourite colour,), this will then be sent to your partner, hopefully give them a clue as to what you like / don’t like.
There’s no swopping of addresses, no rushing to the Post Office, the basis of the challenge, your be given your “partners” name, and their “3 answers”.
The choosing stage – I have worked on the basis that everyone has an Argos near them, and that you can rope a friend in to make the final decision.
Eg
I was buying Jamtart6, her list said, fav colour pink, ideal present – whisked up in a hot air balloon, worst present – something gothic. (budget doesn’t buy helicopter flight, but would maybe think of pampering gift).
Then I’d use Argos (either catalogue or online) choose 3 sets of choices, up to the value of £10, even if one of the choices meant choosing 2 items,
that I think she would like.
Send her a pm, with the 3 choices, giving her the catalogue numbers, (hopefully she doesn’t cheat), and Jamtart then passes them to her friend along with the £10 she has made, and her friend chooses the ideal gift..
So boils down to the £10 you made you are spending on yourself but, someone chooses the presents for you, and sends the catalogue numbers (based it on Argos – hopefully we all have one near), be fun if you could get one of your friends to choose the present.
We all work hard all year round making sure that Birthdays, Christmas and other events are all sorted out, and in all honestly, we don’t treat ourselves, hence the mad idea of the secret santa – with a difference. xx

Dont think it includes the food stuffs as I popped into Asda this morning & they'd replaced the baby items that were on offer last week with christmas nibbles/chocolates. I did take a peak but I'm not going to get any until the Asda Christmas Savers card bonus kicks in (think its around the 23rd/24th november.
Managed to pick up 3 of the screw organiser type boxes from poundland today, they've finally got some blue ones in rather than pink, so they've been put aside to make my nephews a selection box. They get loads at christmas & we never know what to get, so this year I've decided we'll give them some money so they can get what they want, but put it into a box of sweets (on show) so they have something from us to open on the day, & it'll be a bit different (& hopefully more cost effective for us) than the usual selection bar packs they get.
Last night OH decided to spring it on me that I've got to make a christmas dinner type meal on new years day (or eve depending on which he gets off). We did it last year as LO was ill on christmas day & we didnt feel like we'd had a proper christmas dinner as I ate mine with him cuddling up to me & had to leave my moms before desert was served. OH liked it so much he wants to make it a tradition. You cant take a step forward with both feet on the ground0
