Certainly makes a lot of sense.... just typed it in for the hell of it and was amazed when it came up available.0 -
1and1 are an absolute nightmare! They may be cheap but you'll have nothing but problemas with them. I had about 25 domains with them which I transfered away about 2 months ago.
I'm now paying more for them, but the service I recieve has improved no end!0 -

If I buy with them (£10.50 is cheap) how easy would it be to sell on or maybe transfer to godaddy? costs?
TIA0 -
Found this on another site, you can WHOIS using this, works great! The domain I'm after is still available. Jimbo333 - it shows that Apple do indeed have ipod.eu1 http://www.sysinternals.com/utilities/whois.html
2 place the whois app in the c:\windows directory
3 start> run> cmd> whois domainname.eu0 -

It's a bit of a drawn out process transfering uk domains away from 1and1, but i'm not too sure on the transfer process for .eu domains. Personally I'd pay the extra and not use 1and1.0 -

Programme sort of works for me, but the DOS window opens & closes SO quickly that I can't see the contents.... any ideas?0 -
click start.. run
type cmd, then enter
then type the command: whois domainname.eu, then enter
(need to put the program in c:\windows or navigate to the directory where whois.exe is)0 -
yeah, got it in C:/windows, then typing in "who is ___.eu" at cmd line in start-run, dos box comes up and shuts immediately.
doing a "print screen" in the split sec its up and then pasting that into word reveals that it trying to connect to the server...
nevermind, probably down to the fact that I built this PC!0 -
when you go to start run, type only "cmd" without quotes then enter
then a black command dos box will come up
then type whois domainname.eu (in the dos box not in the run box)
You can't run the .exe standalone, it has to be in a proper DOS/command box. This way it won't close after running.0
