.eu domains are available to all people residing in the European Community from tomorrow (Friday) at 11AM. Nobody knows how popular they will be until tomorrow.

Lots of people are expected to grab some because all the other 'good' domains ending with .co.uk and .net and .com are already taken. For example .... icecream.net,.co.uk and .com is taken but people will be rushing for icecream.eu

If you are interested I suggest you look for domain registrators taking orders for .eu. Post your cheapest price you can find for the year below.

Remember the cheapest isnt always the best and some registrars have very poor customer service and control panel. Some will not let you transfer without a fee etc.

I will start 123reg.co.uk (owned by Pipex) sell them at £15 per year. Currently another £15 to "find" the domain but I expect this will be removed at midnight.

Update:

Registration process with many domain registrars is slow. Many people interested and hitting the sites hard for prices and availability plus the companies are working hard with the pre-registrations ... well over 300,000.

These were available for pre-order months ago...I ordered one but nothing through as yet.

First come, first served so customer service counts at the initial stages.

I use easily.co.uk as very good for customer service (and no, I don't own shares in the company...)

I hope someone strikes it rich with a domain name ....easy money....

Had no luck in finding a registrar who will register me, they seem to be gearing up for the morning. I want 2 domains and will get up at 6am and see if it can be done then. All I could find was preregistration.

Only available to those who have trademarks or business rights over specific domains. The free for all landrush for those within Europe starts tomorrow.
