My money is currently with Ulsterbank so I will incur a loss if I don't withdraw on the 1st of the month. What are the rules around opening and funding this bond? Is there likely to be a cut off date?
I have Just spoken to Ulster Bank, it also depends on how much you have with them, I have £49k but as you can only have 10k per day by the usual methods to get it out in one go a letter has to be written & they will then process it by Bank transfer or cheque, so who knows, I will have to conclude if i want to lose £110 to gaurantee i get in or take the chance,, Out of curiosity how long to these deals usually stay active for ??

It depends how much money Newcastle are hoping to attract and how popular the account is. My guess is it will be pulled by the middle of next week.

I also check this site regularly for updates. https://www.emoneyfacts.co.uk/news/savings-news.aspx

    Apologies!
I passed on information given to me in error by a Newcastle B/Soc helpline operative.
I was told that after the initial deposit was taken, a user ID would be sent out within a couple of days, enabling me to log on and see my account online. Today I phoned again and spoke to a different helpline operative. They said this account is operated by post, and no user ID is sent out.

I will follow the previous posters advice and get myself a £1 instant access account. Apologies again.

I have recently applied for this account and set up a D.D for X amount for 20th July.......however I have decided I`d like to add a bit extra.

Is the only way to do that by sending in a cheque for the further amount? I presume I can`t change the initial D.D amount that I set up?

I would assume you can send a cheque for the topup and they will still collect the DD.

You can also send the extra amount today by BACS/FASTER PAYMENTS or CHAPS.

What do I need to do that? I haven`t received my welcome pack yet......just have my application ref number and nothing else. I don`t have any online banking with them either.

I would have called them but looks like their phone lines close earlier on Fridays

    BACS / Faster Payments transfer:

    Sort Code: 23-59-54
    A/C No: 0000 0008
Ref: Either your temp application number (provided at end of on-line application) OR your account Number (call to get it)

You don't need on-line banking with Newcastle to do this - the money will still go into your account - you just won't be able to see it on-line!

I also want to add in some more money, my initial transfer is due to go out by DD, I think it stated the 17th. I did not print out my application, as I presumed it would be sent to my email. So I don't know my account number.

I have the DD confirmation letter they sent, with a reference on it, but I don't know if I can use that to send a BACS payment. Does anyone know?

    Thanks
