I also want to add in some more money, my initial transfer is due to go out by DD, I think it stated the 17th. I did not print out my application, as I presumed it would be sent to my email. So I don't know my account number.

I have the DD confirmation letter they sent, with a reference on it, but I don't know if I can use that to send a BACS payment. Does anyone know?

    Thanks

I did read them. What I'm asking is, if I use the reference number on the Direct Debit confirmation, is that adequate. I'm not sure if that is appropriate or adequate.

    Thanks

I would assume you can send a cheque for the topup and they will still collect the DD.

I rang them and confirmed that this is the case. A pity that I wasn't aware of the Post Office industrial action at the time I sent my cheque off!

    I've just had a thought.
I applied online for this account and asked for £30K to be taken from my Norwich & Peterborough account.
Wondering if it will go through ok as I've just remembered that N & P state that only £10K per day can be taken out.
    Oh Eck!

BACS then - I'm sure if they've taken the dosh they'll allow it to be credited even if they do close the bond.

Hmm now you've got me thinking, money due to come out of my Lloyds TSB account, but I think they have a 10K rule too!

    LLOYDS
    FP - £500
BACS £10K for an online transaction
You cannot set-up more than £10k in an online transaction but I believe if its a DD being pulled by another institution it will go OK - I must have done that in the past -though can't think of a specific

Anyone know the FP out limit for HSBC?

Can someone who knows their account number and also has a DD confirmation, please have a look and see if the account number is the same as the 'Reference' as stated half way down on the DD confirmation letter.

    Thanks very much.

No, the account number and the application reference number are different.

You can transfer £10k out from HSBC using FP.
