They're probably extremely busy today with everyone enquiring about this account.

Does anyone know if, after the direct debit has gone through, I can change my nominated account?

I think speculator has already answered this but to confirm the website says:-

"How do I set up a new nominated account or change an existing nominated account?

In order to set up a new nominated account or change an existing nominated account you must complete and return a 'Change of Details' form and a ‘Direct Debit’ form to us. Both of these forms are available to print out from the website.

The address to return forms to is:-
    Freepost NEA 9061
    Newcastle upon Tyne
    NE1 8ZD

Please allow 10 working days for your direct debit mandate to be recognised and set up by your nominated bank or building society. Any transaction attempted during the 10 working days will be rejected."

Could anyone give me the link to this form download please? I've seached but can't find the form anywhere on the site.

I haven't got any Newcastle accounts at present. But if their systems are the same as they were a couple of years ago these forms will only be available to download if your are logged into their online system.
If you only have the 5 year bond you have no online access as it is postal only.
EDIT: See you have the online saver account. Should be able to find the forms after logging in.

    Thanks noh.

Doh to me, I should have realised I'd have to be logged in. If I wasn't a customer - why would I need such a form?

Oh I feel silly now. :o

Note when I opened the online saver I typed the reference number from the fixed rate application into the existing account number field (which we now know is not the account number) but they still seem to have married up the two accounts above. And seems to be an online option to transfer from the online saver to the fixed rate.

I was going to try this, but the existing account field only wants 7 digits, and the reference number is longer?

Apologies. It must have been the 7 figure reference from the direct debit confirmation letter that I typed in (ignoring the NBS bit at the front) rather than the application form reference number which is 9 digits.

Did everyone go with monthly or yearly interest?
