I agree that Hermes tracking is like the CollectPlus one, where it is terrible in updating.
However, I have sent my 2nd parcel with them today, using the ParcelShop system, and it has acknowledged that the shop has it already. (Took 2 hours.) What I'll do is send them a tweet tomorrow and see how it is doing, much in the same way I did last week.
I have also sent a different item using CityLink today, and that had tracked within minutes to say it had been collected, and is due to be delivered tomorrow, and that's already showing that it's in the collection depot.
You would think that companies like Hermes and CollectPlus that claim to have all these big clients on their books, and what they take from private individuals, would be able to afford software tracking that would be up to the job. That's my mutt in the picture above.0 -

yeah, tried them too in the past, The first one the pdt failed, nisa then went to the other shop co-op had to wait 15 mins for the lady to come back as she was the only 1 trained, and then was told there pdt was not working properly too, how very helpful this happened twice at the co-op
the next place was 6 miles way in dudley, so had to go by bus, yet more bad service wherever this company is there's bad news - :mad:0 -
Not fit to operate in the UK or the world DONT USE THISCOMPANY even if it’s cheaper
They can’t even get the simple things in life right like basic customer service
Now us as customers should not have to do their jobs for them my parcel took 4 weeks to come from Hermes Europe it finally arrived but had been open and had contents open and someone decided to eat some of the food that was in the parcel what is Hermes doing staving there staff. Now to get my parcel I called uk customer services which was better to speak to a break wall all the staff do is read of a script and do not care about the customer I spoke to managers which promised to callme back NEVER HAPPENED had to speak to depot staff again better to speak to abrick wall I even had to call Hermes in Europe again customer service there wasworse could find a person to help me (Hermes uk and Hermes Europe are the samecompany but refuse to help each other’s customers)
Finally late on one evening (in the dark) a person withbroken English comes up to the door and said is this yours and ran off in tothe night (the main problem is Hermes use third-party self-employed couriers togo the depot to collect parcels and deliver them the the customers and don’thave their own delivery staff (no one cares at Hermes (please use a differentcompany don’t use Hermes)0 -
With a lot of courier companies it depends on what drivers people have to cover their areas etc, some good, some bad.
Here we have two regular ones who are both brilliant.
I've sent many parcels via Parcelshop & not had any real issues to complain about.0 -
My main concern is the lack of a card pushed through the letterbox to tell you that they've left your parcel somewhere at the front of your house. Twice now I've only just noticed the corner of a parcel sticking out from its hiding place. Also they are happy to leave cardboard boxes on the ground, albeit under or caravan or something, and in this weather that can lead to very soggy parcels...0

I agree it seem they have to follow a script when taking to you, i even said you are offering crap service, did'nt even try and defend they just said sorry, again, which says it all really,
There are some delivery drivers that are really good, but they soon go if they are as bad at customer service, with us they must be bad to work for too,
we all need to walk away, I canceled my 3 items today and to be far, i got my money back within 3 hours, though this maybe down to the fact i paid via paypal!
Not going to use them ever again, at least for me, i cannot chose other people or company's, but will be more selective from now on,0 -

I think because they pay so little, they don;t get good staff, (no all of them) we had 2 very good drivers, both now have left, and the impression i got from them, they only did it as a gap fill until something better came up, (like nailing jelly's to the wall) etc...
I don;t know but i guess as long as you have transport your hired,
Leaving a card is beyond some as they cannot write, and as for leaving parcel in the wet, well that just stupid, but i bet they marked it as left in a safe place, or something similar,
With delivery's and collections there need to be trust, but they don;t give you that impression when they don't do the job properly, its not rocket science, use a car, walk, pdt, and pen :rotfl: simpels :T0 -
My courier is ace! She's been doing it for 16 years and she even knows the combination to my outdoor storage. She battled through the snow this week - absolutely brilliant!0
