Stay away from myhermes delivery company - total quack company

They are an awful company, they have left a couple of my parcels on my doorstep. Anyone passing could pick them up and walk off with them although luckily this hasn't happened yet. Yesterday I had a parcel from debenhams left on my doorstep despite the fact that it was raining very heavily
Will be avoiding ordering from anyone who uses them as delivery service in future.0 -
They have done the job on occasion but totally screwed up this time. My parcel was dropped off at the shop, collected, then spent THREE DAYS in their "central hub" before going out to the local depot. I will not use them again.DELETE ACCOUNT0

You have to remember with myhermes they are not a next day courier but then do not charge next day prices either.
I had two low value non urgent parcels to send last week when myhermes were saying allow 7 days for delivery and they both arrived within 3 days of being left at the parcelshop. One of the parcels traveled from the south coast to highlands of scotland in that time. For the price paid i think generally they do well but if something must be there quickly then choose a more expensive courier. "Horses for courses" as they say.0 -

But... a work colleague of mine paid an extra £4.95 with Top Shop for next day delivery (via Hermes), 'guaranteed' to be delivered before 5pm. We all left the office at 4pm on Friday, she stayed all alone to take delivery by 5pm...and she waited...and waited. She eventually locked up at 6pm - no sign of her delivery. Very unfortunate as the parcel contained her dress for the staff Christmas party to be held that night. Needless to say she didn't attend.
Terrible service - I would never use them given the choice. Alas many of the big players continue to use them to deliver goods then wonder why customers are disgruntled and insist on full refunds.:xmastree::xmastree:0 -

My point exactly - horses for courses - they are OK if you are not fussed on delivery dates and want ultra cheap.
If you need reliability there are better options and Top Shop must share the blame there for using them on the occasion when a customer has made a specific request and paid extra.0 -

Totally agree. Is the moral of the story not to buy from stores that use Hermes? I firmly think that Top Shop is responsible here as the contract was between my colleague and Top Shop. Top Shop choose to use a carp delivery company - my colleague was not party to this. Anyway the upshot is my colleague was badly let down.0 -

All my Wife's Next parcels come via Hermes and come the next day if in stock. Returns are booked on line and picked up on the correct day, admittedly when it's a Saturday collection these are occasionally left until the Monday.0 -
I've used Hermes on many occasions. Only once did I have a minor problem where the courier didn't wait for me to get to the door in time. I find that unlike other companies they do provide tracking information so you can at least see if the parcel is on its way. It might take a day longer to get delivered than a 24 or 48 hour courier but its usually about half the price and still cheaper than Royal Mail.
At this time of year phone lines are obviously busy and I know it can be frustrating, however I only once had to phone to advise them of a last minute change. I had wanted next day delivery but then had to go away for a few days. The staff member said they'd hold it at the depot for safety reasons and I could expect it in about 10 days which was great.
When buying online either make sure you're in or have it sent to work. Otherwise put a contact tel no or nominate a safe place. And I would also recommend that Xmas shoppers leave themselves some leeway by ordering at least a week before the big day rather than in about 20 December.0 -
First and last experience with MyHermes as a sender was to have my Parcel turned away as too large with no measuring, despite it being with size and weight.
website says that customer services have a 24 hour response (still says that), the automatic mail they send you then says 2 days, it took them 4 days to bother responding - i.e. no support if I had a customer waiting for a delivery then I really can't see how such pathetic support would be workable. At that point (>2 weeks ago) they agreed a refund which would take 3 days to process - no surprises I still haven't received it.
I know that they can't control exactly how the shops behave, however if I had my businesses reputation relying on others I'd at least periodically spot check them and remove the poor ones and I'd certainly make sure I could back it up with good customer service when things don't work out.
I also understand that they are busy at this time of year, but again reputation's are won and lost on service, plenty of other organisations see increase in Christmas volume = increase in turnover and profit so take on temporary staff etc.
Honestly if I'd received a speedy response from customer services and speedy refund, I would have put it down to a one off bad experience with the shop and tried it again in the future. The poor customer service however suggests it's rather endemic so I won't be using them again.0 -
I have used myhermes loads over the holidays and not had one problem, in fact they have been better than city link and yodel.... At least myhermes turn up!
And I have had to go to a larger collection point ( a spar ) as I was turned away for large parcel too.0
