I had a clothing item from ebay delivered by MyHermes a couple of weeks ago, the package had been torn open and reaked of smoke, thankfully the jacket didnt smell at all leaving me to beleive that the smoke small was from the delivery driver not the seller.0

hermes are dreadful....
ordered my mum a pauls boutique bag online for christmas, on the 18th dec, usually with pauls boutique they come within 48-72hours, so days went by, nothing. Chritmas day came and had no present to give mum....great.
so phoned pauls boutique on the 27th dec and told them i still had not received it. They phoned hermes who told them the parcel was lost....great!!
so had another parcel sent out on the 27th, got a text on new years eve saying its out delivery, whooo finally!!
waited in all day new years eve, tracked it online and said it was out for delivery. Waited and waited, and it didnt arrive!!!
today 2nd jan i get another text saying its out for delivery, and its still not turned up yet!!!
much better when pauls boutique used DHL!!!0 -
Dropped my parcel of books off at the parcel shop on 15th November. It arrived at its destination on 3rd January. I now have £47.80 in library fines. If Myhermes had fulfilled their 3-5 working day delivery time, I wouldn't have any fines at all. Not to mention all the stress/hassle.
I'm now going to have to try and claim that back off them. Hopefully it won't be too difficult.0 -

Because I'm currently studying away from university and was using some books that had to be returned. I've done it before and had no issues.
I realise it's a niche usage of a courier but it doesn't at all excuse why a service that is advertised as taking 3-5 working days in fact took 32 working days.0 -
I actually just checked their website and the Parcelshop service is advertised as taking '2 days'. Did they miss the 3 in front of that 2 or what?! :rotfl:0

Hi all,
An update on my situation. I sent Myhermes an email on Saturday about their unsatisfactory service that lead to me being out of pocket. They rang me up on Monday and told me they'd reimburse me the money for the fine that had been incurred and also for the money I originally paid them for the delivery (£53.31 in total). Today (Thursday) the money is in my account so I'm very pleased.Kudos to Myhermes for doing the right thing here and also getting it done in good time.
I'm still wary about using them in the future; I've never had any problems like this before using Royal Mail but then they do charge (at least) twice as much for big parcels so I guess you get what you pay for.0 -
Must admit, can't fault them so far after my debarcle with Collect+. I dropped my parcel off at the local shop on Monday afternoon, and like Collect+ their tracking system was abysmal in updating, so I sent them a Tweet on Tuesday night explaining that I used them for the first time, and my parcel got delivered at lunchtime Wednesday, and my consignee confirmed it by e.mail.That's my mutt in the picture above.0

Had ordered a pair of boots from ebay with delivery to the office. No sign of the package so queried with the seller today. Despite being out and about, he messages back quickly with a MyHermes tracking number which indicates that it had been delivered and signed for at 9.12am on Saturday morning.
This came as a bit of a shock, what with the office being closed on Saturdays.
The secretary produces a battered MyHermes deliver card with "behind pillar" written on it, but the tracking number refers to a delivery made a week ago to a different address about a quarter of a mile away. No contact number for the courier/delivery driver or whatever.
Just as we're beginning to panic, the chap from the office directly across the road appears. He had been parking his car on Saturday afternoon en-route to the nearby Scottish Premier League football ground when he spied (a) a big gray parcel on the top step of the office and (b) about two thousand football fans streaming past en-route for the game. Rightly twigging that it would almost certainly be pinched before the weekend was out, he lifted it for safe keeping.
I have to ask myself what kind of idiot would leave a large(ish) parcel on what is obviously an office building, on a main road in a town centre, on a Saturday morning and expect it to last the weekend.
Moreover if it had gone to an INR dispute, tabling of the delivery card and presumable failure to provide the seller with a valid digital signature would have left the poor chap some £65 out of pocket.
I've not used them myself, but would certainly steer clear of them after this experience. Hat off to the seller for being quick to respond, and hopefully he'll avoid them in future as well.Health Warning: I am happy to occasionally comment on building matters on the forum. However it is simply not possible to give comprehensive professional technical advice on an internet forum. Any comments made are therefore only of a general nature to point you in what is hopefully the right direction.0 -
Well have used myhermes as few times, and was happy,
Booked 3 items to be collected on 21/01/2013 nothing happened, no one collected, ok the weather is an issue, so fair enough,
but tracking information did not change nor did it state anything, about failed collection bad weather etc....
Contacted them today and had a chat with a rep, who informed me that no-one was working, 21st jan bad weather so i asked why did you let the collection be booked?, well we don;'t know how the weather will be?
I said but you said 'no-one was working' so it had nothing to do with weather, cos not every part of the uk is effected to the same level!
He then said the items would be collected today 22.01.2013 but i doubt it the current guy who collects had left, and ASH (the phone op) did not seem to know who was collected as he contacted the man who has left,
so lets take a good look,
Company does noT update its own tracking - even for bad weather
Company keeps saying sorry - but still offers Zero service
And so what to do well they are so busy rubbishing others (like royal mail) well Myhemers take a good long look in the mirror cos you guys are a sham!
AND NO FURTHER BUSINESS WILL BE GOING YOUR WAY, HOPE U GO BUST! :mad:0
