I won't be using My Hermes again after reading this....

I would advise people to try it out and see what happens, as it seems to be down to where you live.
I've used them 3 times, and haven't had any problems at all; cheap and cheerful would be my assessment. Others have had loads of problems, so I guess that is down to the individual who's patch you come under0 -

Usual tabloid scaremongering as there medium is dying so they don't report stories anymore just opinions.
Speaking to our local driver he certainly isn't short of money, goes on holiday several times per year. and as they are self employed they aren't on a hourly wage so the acticle was innacurrate in many ways.
As for myhermes for deliveries i use them regularly for sending small items and never had a problem and i have sent over 100 parcels with them over the last couple of year, which is more than i can say for DHL who i use for larger and heavier items who seem play football with some parcels by the state they arrive with the recipients.0 -

It could be his opinion based on his experience of using them, rather than believing a blog from a less than trustworthy newspaper?
Don't get me wrong, I have no doubt that MyHermes has its problems. In my limited experience they have been fine though, and I can only use that as a basis for my opinion.
You can't dismiss a courier based on one man's experience, just as you can't neccessarily trust them based on another's opinion. Try it for yourself and then decide.0 -

Is that based on your experience or the "News"paper article?
MyHermes aren't the only courier to treat people as self-employed.0 -
I think I've made myself clear.
To pursue this point would take the thread off-topic, so I won't.0 -

To be fair there is a big difference between slating them for their performance, or slating them for their ethics. Hermes are a massive company who don't treat their "staff" as they should; many other large companies are the same.
You have a valid opinion and a reason for not using them, so it's not going that far off topic. The other poster has a valid opinion too.0 -
