I would be very wary of My Hermes,I was using them quite a lot and tolerated the poor delivery time.
However I sent some items that were delicate and 2 of them were damaged in transit, one the recipient stated looked as though the box had been crushed by a very heavy weight or had been knelt on.
The second the recipient said that she could still see the outline of the boot that had crushed the box on the outer carton.
In both cases My Hermes refused compensation as they stated the goods were not covered under their T&Cs,which if you read through them seems to exclude virtually everything.
So the company can smash and vandalise with impunity and you have no comeback.AVOID.

Does sound suspiciously like there might be a fuel or mileage claim advantage to a courier, which translates into a disadvantage to the customer. This would indicate pith poor management.
    .

While I can't disagree about the pith poor management, there is no extra payment for repeated efforts to deliver a parcel. The courier gets around 45p whether they have delivered it on first attempt or tenth attempt. It's in the couriers' interests to deliver their parcels asap - then they haven't got to mess about carrying them forward (extra time and admin) and they haven't got to act as an unofficial warehouse.

Hermes pay NO mileage, fuel, vehicle, warehousing/storage allowances whatsoever. It's a piece parcel rate, end of and there hasn't been an increase in 15 years according to many couriers.

Nor do couriers get any holiday allowance/pay, NI/sick/,maternity etc. If you can't do your round and don't provide a cover, you are likely to have your work withdrawn with no notice.

myhermes are crap,..... keep well away... they took my debenhams parcel and debenhams havent received it.... cant get hold of hermes and debenhams were the ones that booked them!!
Listen to what people say, but watch what people what people do!!
  • I bought something off ebay & they used myhermes to delivery. It was sent on the 15th of December, arrived on the 29th of December. Package looked like it had been bashed around a fair bit & was completely soaked as if it had been left in a puddle for a day. As it contained electronics I was a bit annoyed. As myhermes seems to use normal people to deliver & collect their goods, not actual couriers then problems may be down to area, not the company in general. I won't be using them.
  • never again, cant even speak to customer services, told tried to deliver when i was in all day 8 days for my parcel to come 20 miles use royal mail

MyHermes or Hermes in the UK does not seem to be the same company or at least not handle deliveries in the UK for the MyHermes or Hermes in Germany/Deutschland.

I emailed MyHermes to ask why my parcel was not tracking here in the UK and ask why the only tracking I could find ceased 3 days ago and is only on the Hermes Germany website, which is called myhermes.de

Someone at MyHermes UK replied in 24 hours or so to my email and said Thanks for the e-mail, please be advised we do not deliver parcel from Germany please contact Hermes Germany for further assistance. Kind Regards,

My parcel, an item from an eBay seller in Germany, has ceased to be tracked on Hermes' German website and I have absolutely no idea where it is. It was last tracked with my postcode in one of the boxes on-screen as the destination shown at 11pm at night on the 10th on the Hermes Germany tracking page, but since then nothing - that's where the trail ends. I am 100% sure no one has tried to deliver it.

I have found an email address for someone called Carole Woodhead who is said to be the boss for Hermes, but I have no idea if this is the same company that is responsible for delivery in the UK for an item from Hermes Germany, based on the above email I got then they are not.

I have no idea who to contact in the UK and no phone number to ring except one in Germany which will cost more than the item's worth, by the sounds of it.

On this basis, and based on some of the negative reviews I have read about Hermes on the internet, I am worried that the parcel will at best be delayed significantly more and at worst be lost completely.

I will post again if I get any news or the parcel gets delivered. I have emailed Hermes Germany in German but all I have from them so far is an automated email saying 'we're dealing with your request, in the meantime check your shipment on the tracking page' ... :silenced:

    Edit
I found some reports on the internet to suggest DPD and Hermes are partnering, however my parcel does not track at DPD's website either. http://www.ifw-net.com/freightpubs/ifw/indexarticle.htm?artid=20017610540&src=ticker
This is their German website in English if anyone wants to browse http://www.hermes-europe.de/en/2/2_1/2_ihre_vorteile/2_ihre_vorteile_hermes_auslieferversprechen/ihre_vorteile_hermes_auslieferversprechen.html
and according to another poster with an issue on another forum, my wait could be another 2 weeks for delivery... http://www.theanswerbank.co.uk/Law/Question972485.html - I'd like to know how the customer there knew the item had gone back to the depot for label reprinting, I can only assume the tracking continues on for some lucky people.

I have no idea who delivers it if not Hermes themselves so I don't know why I got that email from them.
If it is Hermes UK, they seem to use independent couriers, see http://www.hermes-europe.co.uk/recruitment.html

I have emailed Hermes and Otto (their parent) to ask.

Oh dear, based on this thread I can forget about ever getting my parcel http://community.ebay.co.uk/topic/International-Trading/Problem-Withs-Delivery/1100139833?&#msg1104796477

  • 13th Feb (Friday - late) I bought an item on eBay (buy it now) and then received an e-mail confirming paypal payment was received within 11 minutes.

15th Feb (Sunday) I recieved an e-mail from myHermes with a tracking number. I didn't link the two e-mails since I had thought that Royal Mail were being used.

I Googled myHermes and ended up here. Heartsink moment.

However, they must move thousands of parcels. Right? Posters here must have been unusually unlucky. Right?

The seller has 99.9% positive feedback though so it looks like they haven't had problems with this firm. In fact most of the feedback reports that delivery times are good. So let's see how it goes!

Well it didn't start well. The myHermes tracking number and post code gets the response, "Sorry, there are no records matching your details. Please check that you have entered the correct information or contact your retailer for assistance."

Things can only get better then.

are they bringing a new calender?
Sunday was the 13th,Tomorrow is the 15th
your item number doesnt track because it wont have been collected yet
  • Within the last few hours the German site has updated itself to the 11th Feb, repeating that the item has been forwarded to the sorting office responsible. This is exactly what the screen said for the 10th Feb. Why there is a 3 day timelag I don't know. Where the parcel is right now is unknown, perhaps in 3 days it will say which city my parcel was touring today, maybe the delay and secrecy is due to my parcel having a long, romantic weekend in Paris with a French Jiffy bag?
