I have now used Hermes for 2 parcels. I used to use parcels2go but Hermes were so much cheaper. I've only used it to return parcels to a retail company so far (THAT'S what is annoying, Yours clothing don't do free returns!!) but so far, first parcel was picked up on the right day, I had to go out so left a note on the door and they collected from my neighbour, and it has been delivered within the 3-5 day guide time.
Second parcel is en route and was collected with no problem. I'm tracking it online and so far so good.
So far, I have no complaints and they have done everything they said they would for £2 less than any other company could offer.
I can only think that the problems are because the couriers are self employed. This means, whilst the company has no responsibility for the employee financially (tax deductions, holiday pay, sick pay etc), they are also not able to have the same quality control as a company who employs people. As a customer, this offers a form of Russian Roulette parcel delivery whereby one is merely at the mercy of the individual and it seems some are doing an excellent job whereas others are going the more "cowboy" route. :cool:0 -

Do my hermes Pay well then?;)0 -
Well I have been using MyHermes for 12 months now ( average of 15 parcels a week and can only comment on their consistent high standard of service.
All of my items are automatically downloaded from ebay ( it always does it right - unlike parcel@go)
I can pay for all the items together using paypal ( it's free - unlike P2g
I have had NO damages ( most of my things are fragile)
I have had no losses and only one item has ever been delayed and took 7 days usually ( 9/10) arrive on the 3rd day.
Their help line is open at 8am and I find them the best help line I've ever used. Thursday this week I phoned from the middle of a field at 8 am , the operator phoned my courier while I waited 2 mins and arranged for an urgent item to be collected that morning instead of the next day.
you can book up to 9 pm now for next day (10 pm soon )
Their tracking system is simplicity itself ( unlike DHL)
As to the question of using housewives and semi retired with their cars, - well I like it! The drivers often hand straight over to the lorry drivers and that's probably why I get no damages.
I like not having to go to my rather alien post office with all my parcels, MyHermes now takes my 3 kilo ones cheaper than RM
I have no connection whatsoever with this company, I use P2G and DHL too buy Ny Hermes is definitely my chosen courier ,
They are saving me and my buyers a fortune.
Keep up the good work0 -
Thanks Uzume and idlecat,
Couriers don't often hear the happy stories, the majority of Hermes couriers are excellent.
You will both of course be accused of working for Hermes, oh you have already Uzume.;)0 -
Hi,
I have to say most people comment about bad service but rarely bother when its good. I gave myhermes a try due to their cheap shipping rates. I sold a product on ebay on Sunday afternoon, raised the shipping request online. The parcel was collected on Monday from my home and delivered by the Thursday prompting excellent feedback from the buyer. I will be using them again.:T:T
Which depot do you work for at myhermes?

Thats a bit unfair and only your experience/opinion, whilst valuable i'm sure it's not very reasonable to tell all people not to use them just because of a couple of dodgy spam looking posts. I use them for my business and only ever had a couple of minor issues, which have been sorted by the cust services quickly enough. The low prices make up for the odd mistake which is rare from my experience as i use them on a twice weekly basis at least. No i'm not a spammerneither do i work for hermes. Just would rather they weren't out of business as i rather like getting my parcels collected than having to go to the PO.
RM tend to cause my more grief with missing parcels at least they are tracked with hermes.0
