Travelodge Customer Service (HQ) don't give a damn about customer satisfaction

Every time (which is pretty regular) I stayed in a TL,within days, I get an email to "rate my stay" and there is a further box to make comments.

Where you've had negative experiences what was the CS response and did you feel it adequate?

I have never had any reason to complain about TL and have always found their staff friendly and helpful.

I use them on a regular basis up and down the country.

Just stayed in the TL in Newhall St in Brum. VERY, VERY good.
£29 for the room and £5 for the best breakfast I have had in many a moon.

It is ideally located for the NIA (went to see the Eagles - brilliant !) and Brindley Place - 10 min walk along the canal.

Out of interest have you had any need to deal with their customer services? Until I did I thought they were pretty good. Sadly when a problem arises they just don't want to know.

I've stayed in plenty of travelodges, and can't fault them.We once had a room (in Bath I think - on the £9 offer) where the hot tap didn't work - we didn't report it till 9pm, but they still offered to get maintainance to our room immediatley, we declined the offer as we'd just got the baby to sleep and didn't want her waking, so the receptionist said she'd deal with "something to compensate us"

The following morning, the receptionist knocked our door with a tray of breakfast, and an envelope containing our "compensation"....it was £25 cash and a voucher for a return stay. Dh being the honest man he is, told the receptionist on our way out that we'd only paid £9 for the room, not £25, so offered her the £16 back, but she said it was all rung through already and to spend it on the baby:T

Other times we've had to call on CS, they've only ever been helpful.

Holiday Inn on the other hand...............Grrrrrrrrrrr!

We stayed at Travelodge end of March last year - the staff were really friendly but the room was big, one storage heater and the towel rail in the bathroom had been disconnected 'for safety reasons' the label said !
Breakfast was a packet of cereal, other meals we could have at the Little Chef across the road.
We opted to walk the mile into town to a warm pub and have a proper roast dinner.
We did book for two nights as it was a special offer but only stayed for one due to it being so cold. I did complain to Travelodge but didn't get very far.
We have booked again this August for a few days in Sussex in the hope that the weather will be warm so it won't matter about the heating system and as we're coinciding it with a visit to my son we can eat with him.
For us it'll just be somewhere to sleep.
Have to say I'd prefer somewhere else but with the special offer on, well price dictates a lot at the moment.
I would be unstoppable if only I could get started !

Excellant value all round and if all the knockers keep their promise and NEVER use TL again, all the more £9 rooms for those that do.
Some people don`t know a bargain even when it hits them in the face.

You are missing the point - the op isn't saying the £9 rooms are a bad bargain, rather, that CS has failed him.

I've stated on here that my most recent request to CS has been less than satisfactory, they failed to answer a direct question, have lost my correspondence and have taken the maximum 28 days to respond to a letter by email. Hardly great service, whatever the cost (which was the flexi rate btw). Some on here have different experiences with CS, and indeed so have I on another occasion. Customer Service that is so arbitrary needs attention, I'm sure you'll agree:D

Meanwhile I will continue to take advantage of the bargains.:D

Travelodge may not be perfect, but another well known low-cost operator is Ryanair.

Have you ever tried their 'customer services'? wall.gifwall.gifwall.gifvomit-smiley-31.gif

There are laid down proceedures for dealing with complaints and are in TL`s T&C.
Go back and read the OP again especially the first and last sentence, then make a judgement.

Yes, procedures which were followed (by me). Sadly, TL do not meet even their own expectations ;)

There is no issue with my OP, its contents are entirely true and factual, despite your feeble attempts to cast doubt.
