  • I have just applied for the NSPCC Platinum card, and before signing the credit agreement I decided to confirm the BT was without fee.

Spoke to the advisor who stated that the BT fee was 2% but confirmed that the 0% rate was for 9 months. I asked him to check this and he came back with still the 2% but capped at 50 quid.

I mentioned the no fee introductory offer, and he went away again and then stated that they weren't aware of it.

I am going to sign for the card anyway, and then try again once I get confirmation of the credit limit. Will update if anything to report.

    Cheers.

Hi all, just about to get my Scout Association card. I was wondering about the terms for spending on this card during the 9 months 0% period. Does this include purchases made abroad or is the spending restricted to UK outlets?

    Thanks

I got an NSPCC card with £6500 limit, the confirmation came through ages ago but no card turned up. I called them and they said it had been approved but not sent their mistake. It arrived on Saturday, the op who activated it did a fee free BT and set up a DD for the minimum payment.

What is the minimum repayment on this card? There seems to be a lot of confusion on this point in relation to Bank of Scotland's charity cards.

I have started a separate thread on this subject, which you might want to look at.

    Hi,

I applied online for the guide dogs card Saturday & amazingly got a credit agreement letter waiting for me when I got back from work yesterday (tuesday)

It had a number on it to call if anything wasn't clear so I called them & had to wait a while why he asked 3 of his collegues but when he came back on the phone he said that there was definately no balance transfer fee on the card.

So I've signed it & sent it back yesterday I'll let you know how I get on when I actually do the transfer, hopefully I'll get the same bloke on the phone

    Cheers,
    worto.

In the main credit card article...

    http://www.moneysavingexpert.com/cgi-bin/viewnews.cgi?newsid1107182516,76509,

...I couldn't find any mention of transferring 'balances' from a current account.

A few years ago we got an MBNA card that allowed us to transfer a debt from our current account to card to take advantage of their 0% for X months.

Does anyone know if these cards offer this facility?

    cheers

Can you balance transfer ALL of your credit up to the limit, or only a percentage like Egg?

I believe the maximum balance transfer is 90% of your credit limit (in common with other HBoS cards)
