Have just activated my Macmillan card and requested a BT, the CSA informed me that there was no fee without having to be prompted, I did ask her to re-confirm this at the end of the call.

Maybe the message is now in place.....

I have just appied for the nspcc card and been accepted with a decent credit limit. Just checking I will be able to balance transfer 2 other credit cards to it at the introductory rate? (ie 0% and no fee on both transfers)

Well HBOS never did get back to me. I didn't see the point in talking to anyone at the customer support centre again as clearly they don't actually know about these products. I decided to sign the paperwork and send it back for the card anyway. I anticipate being charged the BT fee when I use it, but then I'll argue the case again. I'm guessing based on the history of these cards it shouldn't be too difficult to get the charge removed. But it looks to be a lost cause trying to get confirmation that there won't be a fee.

Phoned up yesterday to activate the Harley Card. This if you remember was the platinum card which replaced the previous card after the web site changed. The agent after reading out the T&C's suggested there was a 2% fee for BT. I asked if he was sure, and he immediately retracted that and said. "Oh yes its a harley card there is no fee, it was on another screen", so looks like the word has finally got through to the front line.

    Thanks Martin.
  • I've just (finally) managed to transfer a fee free balance to my NSPCC card.

Being a huge, unwieldy organisation, I think the response you get entirely depends on which call centre you talk to.

I initially spoke to call centre 1 (my reference was the sticker on the front of the card to activate the card) . He insisted that there was a 2% fee. On complaining I was put through to call centre 2 (customer services in Belfast). The chap there insisted that there wasn't a fee, but would have to check with their Scottish call centre. He said he would phone me back. .. he didn't.

I phoned up this afternoon to be told there was no problem at all

    So bear with it everyone!

i was thinking of applying for a Macmillian Platinum card with 0% BT fees, but does it make it a difference if I apply online or via post, and how long are people having to wait for a reply (accept/decline)??
