I think this is the problem. They say something along the lines of "we may charge a fee", not clear at all. This site has saved me a fortune :money: ...it's also cost me a fortune!

Sorry for the basic question but I need to ask if I do a BT for 90% of the credit limit, can I then spend the other 10% left on purchases?
The box in the t&c sheet says BT's 0% for 9 months and purchases 0% for 9 months. So I can do both at the same time?
Sorry, like I said, just a basic question. I'm no expert on stuff like this but I'm learning.0 -
Called to activate my Macmillan card, and was initially told of a 2% fee, but on questioning CSA acknowledged this type of charity card has no fee so an stooze interest absorbing fee avoided.
Next the repayment % 2% I signed and on the summary box or 3% as stated with the card; so so good news here. Apparently website/offer letter2% is an error, and the 3% on that came with the card is what should have been advertised, however they need to review this as there have been a lot of complaints/queries, [no doubt from us MSEs], and possibly wI may get the 2%, yet they can change this to 3% if they wish.
I await their letter, no doubt another 10 days til it arrives.0 -
I also activated my card today. Scouts platinum, 9 mths 0%, no transfer fee, 2% minimum payment (confirmed all details when I activated). Balance has already been xfered to my egg card.
Nice fast online application, hassle free and instant decision. Highly recommended.

Just watch out for your first statement and make sure it is only 2%. You may be unpleasantly surprised, as my OH was.0 -

I can't see that anyone has yet replied to this?
IMHO you should never use your stoozing card for purchases, it defeats the object! If you do a balance transfer for the 0% offer, if you then do even one purchase on that card you will pay interest on that purchase for all the months that you have a balance on that card. Think this is right.
It's because Credit Cards apply your monthly payments to reduce the 0% balance first, always leaving the most lucrative balance (any purchases or other transactions) accumulating interest.....ad infinitum if you never pay off the balance.
I always put away in a lockable file any stoozing card (my current one is the Post Office Credit Card), and am NEVER tempted to carry it around. Look for another card for purchases that pays you in cashback or points (e.g. I have an AA card & a Shell card which produce good rewards on purchases, and now a nice new GE 3% cashback card for my petrol and Tesco shopping!).
HTHPRIVATE 'PCN'? DON'T PAY BUT DON'T IGNORE IT (except N.Ireland).

I'll quote Martin (Balance Transfers article):Never, ever, ever, ever, ever… spend on a card after balance transferring to it!
....
The only exception are the few cards which offer the same cheap rate for spending and balance transfers, for the same length of time; then it's not an issue.0
