As a buyer what puts you off a listing?

Something that I've just spotted that i thought was in very bad taste.
"As I'm disabled I have to charge extra as it costs me more in taxi fares to get to the post office, please bear this in mind when considering my P&P charges" (reworded slightly to prevent the searches!)
From the people I know with disabilities, not one of them would use this as an excuse for postal gouging. In fact, I can't think of many incidents where they have felt the need to publicise it at all, let alone use it as some form of excuse.<--- Nothing to see here - move along --->0 -
Text that runs right off the page, so you have to scroooooolllllllllll, finish reading that line scrrrrrooooooolllll..... etc. Whoever invented select all and copy/paste deserves a medal.
Rubbish in title, or subtitle- (99p start, BiN, no reserve, L@@K, only one on ebay, cheapest on ebay, one day listing.) Urgh.
Search upgrades- bold, coloured, big photo, aren't going to make me look, they just make you look like a knob.
Templates, especially ones with scripts that don't work and crash your browser, and those flash things that follow you round the page, and will actually get in the way of the bidding box
Huge coloured text, that switches size, colour, and font for no reason.
"I will not be held responsible for items lost in the post"
Terms and conditions that would bring a insurance salesman to tears.
"I don't know much about these/I was given them by a friend/ they were my kids, so some of them may be fake". Hmm...
People who put samples of their feedback in the listing, and/or say "I have 100% feedback".This is my opinion. There are many others like it but this is mine:kisses2: Fiancee of the "lovely" DaveAshton :kisses2:I am a professional ebay seller. I work hard at my job, I love my job, if you think it's silly that's your problem not mine.

See in reality, that's why all these silly listings are great. We buy exclusively from ebay, and sell exclusively on ebay.... we're getting 3 times (sometimes more) what we pay, just purely on presentation and service. I look at the competition, and they are doing so many things wrong that it's incredible. I love it.Every listing or sales advertisement be it on ebay or elsewhere should contain these basic elements,- What it is (don't assume they know even if it's obvious, remind them)
- Why they need it (again don't assume, but don't hit them over the head with it be subtle)
- Why they should buy from you over competition, (again, subtle, don't badmouth the competition or make outlandish claims just quietly highlight your plus points, if your a business say registered uk business, if you offer fast despatch time mention it but stick to it, if most competitors are selling from abroad highlight you are in the UK etc etc)
- why they should buy now/a call to action (if it truly is a limited time offer i.e a one off batch of liquidated stock, say so otherwise go for a call to action as discussed.)
I used to sell books on Amazon for a while i was nowhere near the cheapest but i offered same day despatch on all orders placed before 3pm where as my competitors generally quoted 48 hour turn around, i found my place in the market based on service not price.
Basically if you are getting lots of views and no bids/buyers you need to review and overhaul your listing, something is not right, work out what it is and fix it, hopefully the above will give you some starting points to work from.
